buying an appartment or condo in pattaya?

Recommended Posts

hello all, thinkin of purchasing an appartment if i make my journey, in june. any tips on the best way of buying one? i've been telling myself after each trip (this will probably be my 5th trip in less than 18 months) no more LOS but i can't seem resist, so i might as well try and purchase an appartment just in case i return. :eyecrazy

Depends upon MANY factors but the most important are size, age, and location--

To offer some idea, cheap studios around 800k-1.2mBaht, 1BR 1.6-2.8mBaht.

These are in 15 year old buildings, good location, 45-70sqmt.

H i deadman, try searching for realestate pattaya thailand, and you can brouse though them all, checking out areas, prices, and what your paying per sq wak.or meter...ex..50sq wah is 200 sq mts...i think.

or even get the pattaya mail on line ,search for pattaya mail thailand ,and click on classifieds.

good luck ..paul

Prices for condos really all depends on what your standards are. Everyone has different standards, and then size requirements. Some people are content with a small studio and some are not.

sorry about the vagueness, i'm looking for something like a 2 bedroom apartment with ensuite facilities, not too far from the beach (15-20 minutes away not a problem), 1 or 2 years old or even new. just a rough price. i'll probably do a bit looking around if i make to LOS in june! thx

I personally don't recommend buying a condo/house since Pattaya apartments are so cheap to rent. Prices are so cheap especially if you adventure to the other side of the highway. Stay and live for awhile then you decide where you want to buy. Always bargain for the best prices. Thais, well as farang agents will shaft you if they can. If you decide to buy, buy during slow season for the best prices.

I like to rent because of apartments are so inexpensive and affordable, plus if Thailand decides to change their visa policies or cost of living rises, then I can move on to other areas in Thailand or other countries.

Right now the prices have gone up so high!!!

If you are just coming and going to Pattaya say 2 times a year maybe 3 just continue to rent!!

Dont get yourself tied up in a place that your are not in for extended periods of time.

Just an opinion!!

You do what you like :-) Long as your having a great time there..
