During my information gathering I came across this article.

It relates the story of how guys have been getting drugged and robbed. Some people have died due to the druggings.

I am new to all of this so perhaps this is not news but I thought I would post it anyway as a warning/reminder. Any comments would be appreciated.

I will only stay at a hotel that has in room safe. I lock up my wallet except for the money I plan on paying her. I've made over 25 trips to LOS and NEVER experienced any problem of this type with BG.

Hi.

Same, same. Read this article somewhere before, seems like fodder for people who haven't the balls or inclination to go to LOS.

worst I had was a bg that was pissed I wouldn't give her a 500 baht tip. on top of what I had already paid her and she stole a bottle of scotch from the mini bar when I wasn't looking. now I have the mini bar removed. end of problem. I also lock every thing up except what I'm going to pay her. + tip. if she deseves it she gets it.

What a shame that they had to pick the Marine bar on Walking Street as their place of pick up. That's just one of the faves of tourists as well as Lucifer and Tony's. Thiis group could not have made more than a few hundred each drugged tourist. It pays to have a lock box in the room, id secured at the front desk or security guard and a courtesy call when they leave. Now if only all hotels in Pattaya offered these security measures this would lesses the opportunites for crimes such as this.

Here's hoping they catch the lot of them.

Most people who claim they have been drugged and robbed have actually been robbed when they were twisted drunk and no drugs have been involved.

These people often take freelancers, have no I.D validation at front desk. Have a wallet full of cash on them or Gold. They are out cold in the room. Easy pickings for a thief or even for a girl who wouldn't normally steal.

Thanks for all you comments. I think that you guys have posted what I suspected ie the story has been around a while and is dubious at best. If I thought this sort of thing was going on all the time I wouldn't be going there in 4 weeks.

There is two things I will be doing. I will be trying not to drink too much, (this will require some effort) as Mr Stiffy becomes Mr Floppy. I also will not be accepting a little pit from any of the women!

I have to agree with Feileacan. Freelancers are definitely the ones to watch the most. Be careful of the girls on the beach. This is also true in most places around the world whether it's LOS, Budapest, Istanbul, Mykonos, Cambodia or Toronto. Know what you're getting and take precautions and you should have no problem.

this is an old story. happened years ago and those involved were put away. reminds me of the "new orleans" story that would pop up every year before mardi gras. the story line was about a guy that went to mardi gras, meets a hot chick, she takes him to a private party, next thing he remembers is waking in a hotel bathtub that is full of ice, next to the bath he sees a table with a note, upon reading the note he learns that organs have been removed from his body while he was unconscious. yeah and there's a santa clause

Well, guys certainly don't go to LOS to have organs removed from a body.

In fact, quite the reverse.

The article looks like a load of propaganda bullshit to me.

It must be a different Pattaya to the one I know if you can get what you want for $5.00US?Maybe you get that in the Congo?

As for 75-100 tourists dying every year in Pattaya. That is probably correct .But many come there to die having fun because they know their ill health will claim them soon. They want to be happy doing it.Many are cancer victims and old men with heart conditions.100 people dying is a small number compared to the hundreds of thousands if not millions that pass through Pattaya each year.

That artical is so full of shit it is pitiful, I really wonder what kind of investigation they actually did. Definatly goes to show you you can't believe every story you hear or read. We all know stuff like that happens in Pattaya and everywhere else for that matter. I think you are much safer here than in the USA. I mean if i had to make a choice i would feel much safer with the Thai BG than an American street walker, or a prostitute from any country for that matter. What a shame that reckless reporting should ever exist. I also saw a report on sixty minutes about prostitution in Thailand and it was so one sided and blowen out of porportion I almost couldn't believe what I was seeing. Really kinda makes me think the press can say what ever they want, i wish we could hold these fuckers accountable for what they say.....but then again that it is what free press is all about

Cheers

That article is a reprint i read that same exact article years ago on the net. So its just a glorified article being used again.

I however believe that druggings do a happen in pattaya , nut just not so often. Its rare but theere will always be the odd one.

Its easy to avoid from happening

1. stay away from the beach road girls

2. dont take up on offers from girls for free sex or threeesomes appproached right on the street.

3. dont drink a drink that u did not open your self or left unattended at any time.

4. Avoid from getting overly drunk.

5. shower together with your bg if possible

6. be weary whenever you suck her tits dont swallow at that moment when your doing this if possible

6. stick to beer bar or gogo girls and if you like freelancers thats cool but just be extra careful to watch

7. dont provide a motive (dont wear a bunch a gold or carry a lot of money)(act poor like them and the best rule keep th emoney u need for that night, the rest should be put away in a safe and even then you should only change your travellers cheques in small amounts a time. I do $200 CAD a time which gives me 6000 till i do my next change. If there is nothing to steal off you they wont target you. ( they look for someone hold a big wad of cash or wearing alot of gold or carry an expensive cell phone etc. This is the reason why BIG D has never been a victim.

8. have street smarts (its so easy just dont show off your money , act poor, dress averagely, dont piss off people be nice and polite and people will not bother you.

Thats what i think.

The reason why i think there is chance of getting drugged is because there have been the odd reports on this board and stickman has reported to know people that it happened to. ive heard lately its a trend on the rise unfortunately.Be carful, if your smart it wont happen to u
