Hey there,

I am in UK, and have raked up one expensive bill (£200), any ideas how I can call for cheaper, without having to buy shitloads of calling cards or going to some shitty calling centre.

Help is greatly appreicated.

hey...

i use a shitty call centre as you put it and i pay only 3p per min......saying that do a search on the web there are call centre numbers that charge only 2p per min thats £1.20 per hour..... :D 08444397397

failing that why not tell her to give you a ring every 3rd day or so......100 baht on there phones and they can ring the uk for 30 mins or so........its not rocket science is it..... :clueless ....... :D ........

tell her to go to an internet cafe and get on the web with the old web cam and mic.....or use msn to chat....thats only a couple of baht a min.....

you will soon see how keen she is to keep in touch with her walking atm....

beers gettin warm......... :D

Hi guys, if you punch in 18185.co.uk into Google it will take you to a site where you register your phone number (free) and you can call Thai landlines and mobiles currently for one pence per minute. I know this works because I use it often . They bill you on your credit card once a month . No payment to the robbing bastards at British Telecoms.

I use this.....not only great at 1p for calls to my TG's mobile......but its also 0p per minute for calls in the UK to landlines.

It's saving me a bloody fortune!!

this number (07744974590) seems to be working with orange uk your plan 200 contract. you could use your free minutes followed by network rate. i've received my statement and so far no charges using free minutes...

I am in the US and i keep going through phone card quickly. The cards either have a service charge or the rates will change and then thier is the problem with the quality of calls. I just started using yahoo messenger pc to mobile. The rates to a Thailand mobile are around .05 cents . It is the cheapest rate I have seen and the connection is excellent. I am sure thay have a similar plan in England.

Are their any promotions right now in Thailand for calling abroad? I know they had one a few months back that was around 1baht a minute.

Likewise. I signed up for yahoo messenger about 2 months ago and use it to call TG at 5 US cents per minute. Calls back to Ireland to landlines were 2 cents per minute. :clap2

just signed up with a contract with O2, I am using 08445702410 and then your Thai girls number it seems to be working a treat with the call cost coming out of your inclusive minutes. The reception has been excellent every time. You can also store the number by punching in the access number followed by holding down the asterix giving a p(pause) and then entering the thai number without the zero e.g. 08445702410p0066123456789, this definitely works on my sony ericsson phone, Try it out

I use Yahoo! Messenger and Skype. The latter has better call quality on iffy connections. When I'm at home on a cable modem, Yahoo! is fine. If I'm on the road and using hotel DSL or EVDO, I'll go for Skype. Too bad all those Iowa "free call" schemes dried up!
