Accommodation for one month

Recommended Posts

I have been to Pattaya on a number of occasions and I am looking at having my next visit in about three months time. On my previous visiits I have only stayed for 10 -15 days, this time however, I am looking at staying for a full month.

Normally I have just rented a room for around 500 Baht a day, however this time I would like to rent a Condiminium, that is furnished, has access to a swimming pool and UBC TV, it would also have to be within walking distance from Walking Street. I am willing to pay around 10 - 12000 Baht for the month. My questions are:

1. Firstly are there Condiminiums that would meet my criteria available for only one month rental or is there a minimum rental period ?

2. If they are available are there any pitfalls such as bond payment etc ?

3. I assume I would have to pay for electricity and water how much would this be for average consumption ? and

4. Are there any hidden costs I should be aware of.

Regards

John

I stayed at View Talay for a few months on a month-by-month basis. Utility costs for one month in a studio ran about 1000 baht. I had to pay a 1 month deposit, which was refunded when I vacated. The monthy rent was 9000, and I had a nice view from the 14th floor.

Your electirc cost will depend on how large your unit is and how much you run the A/C. My average electric and water is around 900 a month. I've know other who kept the place like a refrigerator and their cost was 4K. You'll also have to pay extra for room cleaning unless you have a TGF doing it.

Under 1,000B is probably conservative for electricity use in a condo. I would say most people average around 2,000B in my experience -- some more and some less. If you like fresh air, then that will affect the bill. Many condos have minimum rental periods and some don't. I rent my View Talay condos out short term with short term prices.

I can recommend Yensabai Condo about a 12 minute walk from Walking Street. Huge studio room with AC, 25" TV and kitchenette. Big bathroom with shower big enough for :clueless or more. In room safe. I don't know about UBC. Cost 500 per night. www.pattayarentaroom.com I've stayed there a few times and liked it.

UBC is expensive unless you have it in multiple rooms (like an hotel). Something like 2.5k per month in fact.

You can go to Yensabai but you could also try the View Talay condos. OK I live in one but I have been happy here for 1 1/2 years. Many adverts on the bulletin boards in the reception in each block. You would then be dealing direct with the owner.

The Yensabai is an OK bet Used it many many time. Its just hit and miss on the room avaialabity but they show you a pic of the rooms available when they offer to you.

The Yensabai can be fully booked or you just might get in send an e mail doesnt hurt!
