Hi all, this is my first post! I arive in pattaya 02 oct 06 for 2 months. I have rented a car 2 times before but it was included with the house. I need a car or truck for rent. it does not matter what it looks like, just a safe, air conditioned car or truck please. Any info would be most helpful that won't cost me a arm & a leg. Thanks! email: italianskip@hotmail.com

Hi Mate,

I have just joined aswell but I can tell you about a car rental that I have been using for years. The cars are reliable and I often use them for up country trips. I reversed into a pole once denting the back and he only charged me 1,000 baht damage fee.His name is OODY and has a "stall" on beach road near soi 5/6.BTW don't get disheartened if you get a Jazz. We fitted 3 adults 3 children plus suitcases inti it and shot up north no problems.

Big Skip,

I am looking to hire a car for 1 month in December and have started having a bit of a look around at whats available and the costs.

At the moment it looks like I might go for Q Cars. Probably around 16000 baht for a month for a compact. But then if anyone replies with details of better deals then I will look at them also.

This is a link to a website the has some of the car rentals firms in Pattaya on it.

Big Skip,

I checked the prices on the link you were given earlier and the "Charlee" prices are comparable to Kn OODY. If you are just staying in the area get the cheapest but if you are heading up countery and want a bit of reliability check out OODY's cars. I shan't be in LOS untill 16 Dec to 4 Jan ( I am doing a dummy run for when I take my 85 yr old Mother in Easter!) so won't be able to join you for a drink...but I am sure you will find somebody who will.

I rented a car from the guy that manages all the motorbikes for rent on the soi with Pizza hut (i think 13/1) It was a nice new tinted car with air con and cd player. I got it for 1200 baht a day. On second road outside Xcite, they have brand new Mitsubishi warriors for 3000 baht a day and lots of other cars at 1200 a day.

Personally I hire out a fireblade 1000 cc at 300 baht a day most of the time.

I actually know a bargirl that hires out a BMW lowered car with very loud ICE. She admitted opposed to insurance she pays the police monthly-
