Etihad Buisness Class Seating

I'm about to use Etihad for first time shortly and was wondering which seats to book. Their set up is completely different to any other Biz class that I have flown in.

I was considering the closest to window rows (A or K).

Question is .. Are they more "cramped" in those rows, than the "more traditional" aisle access rows of C and H. I normally fly in aisle seats (partly for the greater sense of room as well as avoiding being penned in by a serial sleeper!). The set up removes that latter problem, and I would like a window seat for a change; But I do like room to move.

Thanks in antic

Sorry to post when I haven't flown with this carrier. But coincidentaly they were mentioned on the BBC World Fastrack programme very recently .... something about good design of the seats.

fatboyfat,

Deep (ruskiehat) has flown with them ........ maybe worth sending him a PM.

I've not flown with Etihad but the pods on the 777s in all the photos I've seen seem to be in a 2-4-2 configuration, albeit staggered, rather than the 1-2-1 they claimed when the 777s were introduced. Thats pretty tight widthways no matter how well designed they are.

I flew Etihad business bkk-london-bkk in August and it was the nicest flight I've ever been on. I got what was virtually my own cubicle, flat bed 6'1 long, about a dozen films to choose from. I even liked the Abu Dhabi terminal, small and could smoke anywhere near the central opening through the floors, but for the first time ever I wanted to get back on the plane to my terrific seat.

Window seats are best, singles, and you want an odd-number so the 'wall' of the cubicle blocks you from the aisle. I had 5A, which is the front row window, and 7A, two seats back, on the return. They serve from the back forwards so you might prefer further back which is about 11A.

When I booked the seat for the return by phone, the guy said "Will you require the limo, Sir?" - you get a free car from home to the airport! Don't know if there's a free car in bkk but worth asking.
