Where to buy camera lenses

I'm looking to add to my collection of lenses for my Digital Rebel XT and would like to know if there's a good place to pick some up? I'd like the real deal, no bootlegs...

 

Right now, I have:

 

75 - 300MM

18 - 55MM (kit lens)

50MM on the way from Amazon.com

There are camera shops in BigC, Royal Garden Plaza and TukCom.

 

They may not have the particular lens you want in stock, but they should be able to order it for you.

I've got a couple of Canon Ultrasonic (USM) lenses (50-80mm and 75-300mm) in Pattaya that I am getting rid of along with my 300D and kit lense.

 

I'll be back there during the second week of May.

 

If you want new, Panthip would be the place. I'll be there on Fri ...... let me know if you want me to price them up and exactly what lense (USM/IS etc) that you are after.

I checked in two shops (both on the 3rd Floor) at Panthip yesterday:

Both shops indicated that they were open to discounting a bit from those prices depending on the market.

It is so nice--and rare--to have somebody say they will check something out like this, and actually do it and reply promptly. I PMed CheshireTom and he checked some Nikon prices for me. I'll post them here in case anyone is interested.

D40 - 19k incl 18-55mm kit lense

D80 - 30k body only

They didn't have a 18-200 VR lens in stock

 

LA-OX

D40 - 16.5k body only

D80 - 29.9k body only

18-200 VR lens - 30k

 

All of these prices are inline with Internet prices in the USA, and the D80 is cheaper than I have seen it at any reputable dealer.

Thanks for checking those out. It seems that their prices are about the same as the States.
