Thinking of staying closer to action on my second trip, what do you think of this hotel ????

Expensive for what it is,nice bar though with some decent chicks.

Stayed at Secrets about two weeks in October. I liked the place and found it good VFM. In high season I would call it a bargain since the 750-950 thb/night is the same all year.

I stayed there between Christmas and New Year's and liked it. Nice rooms, good service staff, good value. The only negative I experienced is that there's no elevator (that I could find, anyway) and lugging my golf clubs up and down the narrow winding staircase could be an adventure at times. That, however, strikes me as a relatively minor issue.

A friend of mine stayed there but wouldn't again as the rooms on the first floor are very noisy as they are directly above the nightclub, he did mention it to one of the managers who told him they had a special sound proof coating but all he could see on the walls was paint

Also the stairs are very narrow and there is no lift , not much fun climbing up and down stairs also there is no in room phone system which is a bad thing for a place that markets itself as an upmarket type hotel.

Another thing that worried my friend as when he stayed there, there seemed to be fight between two of the owners over something and one of the guys had the other by the throat. Not a thing you go on holiday to see.

All in all from what I myself saw of the club as I couldn't be bothered climbing the stairs to see my friends room was not a bad club but overpriced food, reasonable price drinks but the atmosphere somewhat lacking.

The place is fresh as it was just recently remodeled and opened in Sep. Its a small hotel and has a dedicated following so if you want to stay there you had better let them know well in advance of your arrival.
