68 year old pensioner has accommodation problems.

Recommended Posts

As a 68 year old, rather poor pensioner, crippled, mobilising on crutches and not having been to he Pattaya/Jomtien area since 1997 so I need some advice please.

I need to find some half-decent place to stay for up to 6 months suitable for my preferences (Oct to March 2008) avoiding the UK winter.

My target area would be near to Dongtarn beach in Jomtien but I believe the connecting road is pedestrians most of the day but the odd trip to the flesh-pots of Pattaya.

A deep pool with strong steel ladders for getting in and out would be a great boon.

And finally this “pipe dream” of mine only has a budget of about 9000 Baht a month, if possible.

Perhaps some wiser souls, with up to date knowledge of the area, might be able to please guide me?

Thanks in anticipation.

I think your idea is doable. It's a great idea to escape the winter!

I have a friend who owns 3 small studios in Majestic Condo in Jomtien. If you're interested I can connect you and him. They rent for 4,500B/m-6,500B/m plus utilities. Plus there are plenty of other places for people with a low budget as well, just don't expect very much.

That is good news, thank you.

I have wintered in Samui for over 10 years now and it is now so crowded (1 million a year now) and far too expensive!

Should your pal contact me, he can email me at bobflack@email.com as IO am certainly interested at those prices!
