Hotels with Remote controlled Air Conditioning

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a hotel, for about up to 1500 baht per night

in the Second Road area, with air con, controlled by remote?

I stayed at Royal Twins Hotel in June, and the air con was terrible

My mate was ill and had a fever, I asked the hotel, if I could have a fan,

they repled "No,you have to go to Big C,and buy one" :D

The hotel, has great rooms, but unfortunately the management, are not keeping the hotel

up to scratch - so to speak.

Does Areca,Sandy Springs,or Whitehouse have air-con with remote control?

Any advice,greatly appreciated gents.

Cheers

Miko

Weaver surely you are not so lazy that you cannot get up and walk a few steps to adjust the A/C. Consider it your exercise when on holiday in LOS.

The reason, I posted this, was because the previous hotel's air con was so old and was never cleaned!!

i want a nice room, with newish air-con installed- hence the request for remote air con -

BJ Lodge on Soi3 has remote aircon, Toshiba make, found it a bit cold for me as it is opposite bed,TG's were freezing so had to turn it off sometimes.

Hotel nearer beach road than second road but only a two minute walk.

An R/C aircon is no guarantee for something decent, I have had rooms with an aircon from hell with R/C.

The ones I prefer are those small wall mounted ones from Mitsubishi, very very quiet.

And cleaning ? no fucking way, I think it doesn't even spring to mind, but hey TIT. :devil

Good hotel with remote control air conditioning - adjustable 18c to 25c with power booster - worked very well - BG complained of the cold.......I told them about my asthma......end of discussion!

Give my standard room 7.5/10........ONLY because the view from the balcony faced a car park, thus no privacy - if not for this, then 9.5/10 for value and quality.

Weaver I reread your post several times trying to understand why it is crucial for you to find a hotel with a remote control for the A/C. I can understand wanting a remote control for a T.V. but putting an A/C remote control at the top of your list as a requirement for staying in a hotel has me stumped. Wanting a hotel with new air conditioning would certainly be a consideration if one suffered from asthma or other problems of this nature. But what a remote control has to do with the cleanliness of an A/C, or for that matter the frequency of it being cleaned, has me perplexed.

What if there was a hotel meeting all your requirements...under 1500 baht per night...newly installed A/C...near 2nd Road...if the A/C was not controlled by remote, would that be a deal breaker? Surely you see why I was confused by your original post?

I'm new here and don't know if it's possible to edit our posts after we submit them. I have asked this question of the management on another section and await their response, because a mistake was made in a previous post unrelated to this thread that ultimately I was responsible for and I would like to correct it. If I hear back from management that indeed there is an edit function available here, I will get back to you in this thread to let you know. That way you could possibly rewrite your specifications for a hotel room so as to be more clearly understood and others won't be confused like I was.

Warmest regards,

Chauncy

Sky-Top has your remote control needs well in hand. Not only do they offer AC remote but TV remote also. Price well within your budget and it's located on 2nd Road near soi 6. Clean with in room safe, fridge. Good value for the money. Tell Pete Denny sent you and you might get a discount.

Remote control air conditioning is essential because:

1. Saves the monger hauling his sorry asre out of bed.

2. Can be adjusted in mid shag for maximum comfort.

3. Saves the humilation of BG seeing a small, limp cock, when monger stands up 2 adjust the temperature.

4. Impresses BG, therefore winning extra affection and shags.

Thank you ben99 for that amusing post. But in all seriousness I think you hit the nail squarely on the head with point #1- Saves the monger hauling his sorry arse out of bed. I took the liberty ben99 of changing two letters you transposed in the word "arse" but left it with the British spelling which you obviously intended. I resisted the almost overwhelming urge to replace it with "ass."

Getting back to Mr. Weaver and his request for a remote control for the A/C here is his original post which he told me to reread after I questioned him about the A/C remote control matter:

He implies that all would be well in the next hotel he stays at if he has a remote control to adjust the A/C...why didn't mr. Weaver just ask for a hotel with good A/C? Why ask whether the Areca, Sandy Springs, etc. have A/C's with remotes? Isn't an A/C in good working condition enough?

So that leads me back to your post ben99 that was obviously written in jest but in actuality struck at the heart of the matter in my opinion...namely that Mr. Weaver is lazy. It's not a crime to be lazy, many of us are, but for him to tell me to read his post again, that somehow I misunderstood what he was asking about is a bit disingenuous on his part. Well, at least to me it is. Mr. Weaver, maybe you can reread your first post again in order to understand how I interpreted it. If you would either explain why a remote control is so important to you rather than you just being satisfied with a "newish" A/C in the room I would appreciate it. I truly would like to move on but it's not that easy for the following reason.

I am afflicted with a personality disorder that was explained to me as being obsessive and I am afraid for some reason my mind has become obsessed with Mr. Weaver's search for a room with a remote for the A/C! And all this will take place in a city I have no plans on visiting soon! I have never met Mr. Weaver, of course, so on the surface it appears to most as much ado about nothing, but unless you are in my shoes (and I wish no one that) it's impossible to understand.

Last night at a restaurant the A/C was set really low (summers are very warm where I live). Actually it was a bit too cold, and in the midst of three other people all chatting away I was thinking," I wonder if the A/C here has a remote? It seems to be working great whether it has a remote or not...I wonder what Mr. Weaver would think about this?" Crazy, no?

Warmest regards,

Chauncy

I feel that I need to respond after reading such drivel ,from a person who doesnt even intend to visit Pattaya.

Why have you replied to the post, when you obviously have nothing of any substance to offer?? :banghead

I merely asked for aircon with remote,as USUALLY these are new units, that produce clean air!!

For me been lazy, I can assure you I am most definately NOT!!

The Royal Twins hotel, has ancient air con, these are not single units, but these are built into the ceiling.and are not cleaned, which are belching out impurities, which are making the residents ill.

About changing hotel, we simply could not change,as my friend was very sick and had a high fever,so he was unable to pack his belongings.

My friend only improved, when the aircon was turned off,and i bought a desk top fan,so then his condition improved which was 24 hours before we left.

In closing, my post was to ask, 'which hotels have new aircon?' or 'Are there any new hotels in the 2nd road area?'

I hope this has clarified the matter.

Thank you for clarifying your original post regarding the air conditioning Mr. Weaver. It is my problem (and one that has plagued me for much of my adult life) to at times focus on a minor point to the exclusion of the major one. Please accept my sincere apology. For me to assume you were too lazy to get up and change the setting on the A/C was presumptuous of me to say the least. But at least when you went back and reread your original post, you were able to understand where I jumped to the wrong conclusion. My mind focused on what to me was an obsessive desire on your part to secure a hotel room with a remote control device. I am glad, however, that you have modified your original post substantially by dropping the whole remote control requirement altogether and clarified your room requirements. I thank you for that.

In closing, I hope your traveling partner has by now regained his complete health and you, Mr. Weaver, have success in the near future in finding a great room with an equally great new (or nearly new) air conditioning unit.

Warmest regards,

Chauncy
