Buy something in Lamai and you'll be pouring money into a bottomless pit.

Seriously, if you don't know the place don't invest.

Is it that bad in Lamai now, was my favourite place and considered buying something there myself years ago, not been for 5 years and then they'd turned the Rock pub in to a restaurant :thumbup

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got back from samui.

Chaweng was busy but mostly Slackbladders and not your regular beer bar clientele.

The late "trendy" bars and clubs were doing good trade.

I can't really see another beer bar being very successful there IMHO.

I think if the idea is right then there is always room for a successful bar.

In lamai this year there was a great bar (some irish name) and they had just the best girly rock band playing. (they played their guitars on their heads with pints of guiness balanced on them).

The place for full to the rafters and off hand i dont think the beer was THAT cheap.

The point is Lamai aint a ghost town yet.

Phuket looks a good option now as patong is starting to get to Pattaya size and numbers of bars are equaling patts. There is now a HUGE rock city bar on the beach rd and has about 4 different FARANG bands playing nightly.......how the hell can they do this in patong and not pattaya.

Not a sniff of a farang entertainer here!!!!!!!!!!
