Hi, I am coming to Pattaya for the first time in December, was wondering if anyone knows of decent hotels in jomtien beach area? Have looked at the RS seaside hotel which looks reasonable, but cannot find many reviews on this hotel. no-one ever says wether it is GF friendly or not.

Any kind of help will be appreciated.

Thanks. :D

I again ask my question why would want to stay in Jomtien when Pattaya has so much more to offer.

Probably for the exact same reason they choose not to live in the centre of London, Manchester or Birmingham. You should give it a go, it might broaden your horizons. :allright

But I did chose to live in the center of London until I was married and had a kid on the way ,so my question stands.

Perhaps you did, but the other 50-odd million folk chose otherwise. :allright

I hope your pregnancy went well. :clueless

Try Silver Sand Villa. Conveniently situated near soi 7 and girl friendly. I stayed there for 2 months last year and several of my friends who were new to Pattaya have now stayed there and enjoyed. Room prices from 700 baht per night depending on season. www silversandvilla.com.

I like to chill out on the beach during the day. When I stay in Pattaya, I usually end up taking a baht bus to Jomtien anyway as the beach in Pattaya sucks. Also, Jomtien has a lot more going on than you think. Plenty of bars and action, both in the Jomtien Complex and also up the little sois that lead off beach road. Not so many GoGos (I think only one) but that's much more to my liking anyway. And Pattaya is just a baht bus ride away. No big deal.

Hotels in Jomtien that I would recommend:

The Jomtien Boathouse, right on beach road. Quiet, good restaurant, and a stroll across the street to the beach umbrellas. Good price. Good staff. Guest friendly.

The Roof Garden, not actually on the beach but just up the main road a little. One of the larger rooms I've stayed in. Good helpful staff. Coffee/tea facilities in room. Good restaurant next door. Excellent price. Guest friendly.

You could try the Jomtien Thani on Soi 5.This Soi has quite a few bars and restaurants on it.

Tuk-tuk just 10 baht to Pattaya but dearer coming back depending on where you get it from.

Best place is near the traffic lights on the soi up from the end of Beach Road....turn left instead of going down Walking Street.

Soi 5 in Jomtien is probably best avoided until they put up the 90 storey condo complex that is due to start ground works soon.

Last Christmas I stayed at the Aiyaree Hotel, is fairly new and just beside the Monkey statue, very handy for Bars, Baht bus and restaurants....a good five minute walk to the beach..if you dont stop for a few beers en-route. Breakfast was included, pool was nice to look at, but not heated, rooms were large with fridge/freezer and upmarket bathrooms. I would stay there again, sometimes it is nice to be just out of the middle of it all. I did go with my family, however I would reckon it was guest friendly. :allright

Raithlee,

Good breakfast can be had next door. The closest bars are down in Jomtien, just as you turn the last corner onto Jomtien Beach Road there are plenty of bars on the main Thappraya Rd. (one called Country Road or somthing like that, has plenty good looking BGs. Also before getting to Beach Road there's the Jomtien Complex which has several good ones to include El Coyote, Las Vegas Bar (naked pool players one of their specialties). Loads of little bars going up each little Soi off Beach Road. If you're into GoGos then you'll be shit out of luck......there's only one!

You'll enjoy the Roof Garden.
