I bought a car on hp,a toyota yaris, from the Rayong Toyota dealer october last year brand new.

I've always paid for the service. UK i'd get 3 years free standard.

services are small money -1000 bt but ??? shouldn't there be something similar here. Or did I unknowingly waive it fo a cheaper deal??

anyone know

not bothered too much but a previou thread made me think

Free servicing (labour only.... you had to pay for parts) came with my vehicle. I think it was the first three services or up to 2 years. That was with Ford.

That said, you have to watch them and read your booklet as they fix the car. I took mine in for a 'strange noise from a wheel'. They replaced a part, charged me for labour but not the part. When I said it was still under warranty, they told me this 'not include'. I re-read the warranty and it was 'bumper to bumper'. Point being, they don't know what they are talking about and the inclination is to get money from you.

I bought a Toyota Fortuner new from a Pattaya dealer (left on Sirkhumvit going North) and we have a warranty of 100,00 kms or 5 years (I think 5 years but need to check the actual number), which ever comes first. This is similar to UK warranties.

The car is not yet 2 years old and we service it regularly at the dealer. The cost is very low - just oil etc.

We tried to negotiate a discount and and got a very small amount off. What we did get is a load of options thrown in free. The car is delivered to the dealer without any options and the dealer adds them. So this is where they have more flexibilty.

I bought a 2007 Ford Focus new. I lost one of the center decorative inserts from a wheel. I stopped at Ford to buy a new one and they replaced it free. I had a rumbling sound from the car at certain speeds. They replaced both front axle assemblies complete with bearings and CV joints at no cost.

I took some other goodies instead of free sevice. Free service was available. Service has been quite good.

They did fix the seat belt for free once.

Gary, I believe you live in the sticks, so probably not using the Ford dealer on Sukumvit near NaJomtiem?

My Ford dealer is in Loei but I would fully expect dealer service to be consistent throughout Thailand. I asked some questions through the Ford website and got accurate quick answers. Any complaints should be given through the website.

As a side note, my Focus loves the new E20 fuel. It does every bit as well on E20 as 95 octane gasoline. I think Ford designed the Focus engine to perform well on E20 at the expense of 95 octane gasoline. My fuel economy wasn't very good and 95 octane gasoline was getting harder and harder to find.

i have a new vios G on hp from toyota, the one on the right on the way out of town.

got loads of extras (costs me 10,600 baht per month)

servicing.

5k & 10k were 100% free

then they said serviceing is free for life, pay only for parts.

service is every 5k km's, but they do have an option for larger gaps if you use better oil, but i worked it out ot be chaeper to do it every 5k anyway.

cost so far is about 500 baht per time .. oil only i think.

they change filters every 15,000kn , then its costs about 900baht.

but 100% sure its free labour for at aleast 5 years , as the tg's sister has a 2nd hand 4 year old vios and she still get free labour

Well I am trying the E5 diesel substitute.... can't tell any difference.

I wouldn't know if service is consistent, only dealing with the one place. The mechanics seem to get on with their work and are a pleasant bunch. You have to interface with these young girls, and my limited Thai seems to make them avoid me. It is all a bit disorganised, and customer time is of no consequence, I have waited hours for small jobs. Plus the vehicle can be ready for an age before they pick the paperwork up and pass it to the cashier. There are 2 fancy offices for the managers, who are male. I have yet to see one of them in the place! I am getting the impression Toyota take better care.

  • 3 weeks later...

Oil and filter change (filter my option) each 5000km on the Isuzu about Bt1000. labour free for 50,000km I think.

That said, I tipped the one in Buriram when they fixed some problem and they just did a load of other stuff for free !

Don't buy a Mitsubitshi. Mitshubishi refused to honor the warranty on mine. The rotors warped badly with less than 24k miles on the car and Mitsubitshi claims rotors arn't covered even though rotors arn't listed as special components not covered such as windshield wipers and brake pads.

This is the first car I've ever had that the rotors didn't last the life of the car.
