eventually got one

not my first choice

emirates with 9 hour stop i dubai

gets in bkk at 18.45

I got Etihad (Via Opodo) Manchester > Bangkok > Manchester Out 28 October Back 24 November for £524 few days ago, but this fare does not seem to be available now, but check Opodo - they seem to have a few alternatives for early November at around £600.

Opodo seems to be a little cheaper that Expedia, Ebookers etc.

Obviously the fuel price is biting !.

Firstly don't know what airport or dates you are using but can't be London with them prices.

 

Have some Example fares from London Heathrow using the following dates.

 

Dep 8th November returning 29th November.

 

Jet Airways £493, Gulf Air £541, Kuwait Air £556, Etihad £562 and Thai Air 629.

 

Sounds like you are using Manchester Airport.

I am soooooooo glad that back in January, I locked up a frequent flier seat in business class for November (LAX-BKK). It is now pricing out at almost $9,000 US. Only a year ago the same flights were $3,000.
