Private Medical Clinics

I've looked and have seen many of the posting about private insurance for the local hospitals but does anyone use a private doctors ?

 

Are there any private clinics ?

 

If so, any cost info.

Not sure what you mean by 'private clinics'....

The system is based around small clinics run by doctors (hopefully), government hospitals, and what I would term 'private' hospitals.... private only to those who have the money /insurance required.

If you see a clinic, bet that it is private. There are very, very few non-private (government) clinics on view in Pattaya. Clinics are an extension on hospitals, really, run by doctors and groups of doctors as a way to build their vertical market.

 

Since they are private, cost varies. Figure 200 to 800 baht to get in the door and a quick interview and diagnosis. Then you WILL drop a couple hundred baht on medicine.

 

Beyond that, you really can't estimate. Anything serious, they will direct you to their hospital.

keep in mind, that some of these clinics are poor quality, i remember taking my gf to a clinic around the corner, and they misdiagnosed, injected the wrong medicines, and the next day he said, umm, you go hospital.

 

From now on i only go to the (private) hospital, Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and Pattaya International Hospital are very much like a private clinic
