I had a quick look at this relatively new hotel 3 weeks ago when I was in Pats and was quite impressed by the standard of the rooms and that there was a reasonable sized pool. Its situation would not suit a lot of guys being at a fair distance from the sea and being on a rather "downmarket" Soi, but these points are not negatives for me. I have just checked their rates on the website "theholidaymansion.com" and they seem very competitive particularly their monthly ones (12,000, 13,000 & 15,000 depending on the room).

I'm thinking ahead to my February trip and with the Pound taking a nosedive I'm in economy mode and am not inclided to pay 1200 per night at my usual hotel the Sabai Inn.

Has any member any experience of staying here ?.

I've stayed there many times. It is very good value for money. The staff are pretty friendly and they don't charge joiners fees. Only downsides, the air-con control switches are broken in some rooms which can mean that your room is too cold (not usually a popular thing with TG's. The other grumble is that the drapes are light coloured which means the the rooms tend to get quite light as soon as the sun comes up. A big bonus, apart from the swimming pool, is the Car park with a 24 hour guard. The laundry in-house service is efficient and cheap.

All in all I really like the place, I would reccomend seeing a couple of the available rooms first just to check that you can control the air-con temperature

Thanks Feileacan (I would be interested in having your opinion) & Dr Winston.

As it stands at the moment I will be in Pats later February. Probably just do a walk in and check things out.

They didn't reply to my mail, so I've booked the Bella Villa Prima instead up by Soi 3

I stayed there back in Nove/Dec 2004 and put a review in the hotel reviews section. At that time the cost was 8K, 9k and 12K. The only difference between the 8 and 9K was that the 9K's balconies faced the pool area. I had the 12K room which was larger than the others. Just a short walk to soi Buakaow where you can hop on a baht bus which will either take you south and over to the Walking St area or north up to the Big C area.

Back then I got housekeeping free once a week and the deposit was to cover your utilities useage. Got the balance back with no problems.

I have been staying here for the last 5 years

Last time i was there was march last year

it was a good hotel, but last time i was there, the place was a bit run down and it seemed like they did not spend any money in the upkeep of it

Value for money it is still good

As for location,if you walk through the new Pattaya plaza, its only a 10 minute walk to soi 8
