Eva - online booking - new credit card

Recommended Posts

some advice please.

booked online in October directly with Eva LHR-BKK-LHR using credit card. since then my bank had to change my credit card due to some fraudulant transactions being made. the new credit card is of course a different number. as Eva require you to present your credit card at check in i now cannot check in as usual. would ask Eva london office however they have no e-mail address and so i am asking for advice from the board.

thanks

Just give them a ring at heathrow the number is on the site and ask them to note it on your booking reference.

If you still have the old card as well may worth be taking that as proof.

What has your card company said might be worth speaking to them as well.

Well, my answer won't help you much since it is "maybe they will ask, maybe they don't"

I always purchase my airline ticket online (and pay by CC) and since 2005 have flown to Thailand twice a year. I've only been asked to show my creditcard once (flying THAI from Frankfurt Germany). But on another flight with THAI they didn't ask, so it's not a policy with THAI either. On any other occassion I've never been asked to show my CC. I've flown KLM, China Airlines and THAI.

EVA Air London might not have an e-mail address (well, I'm sure they have, but it doesn't show on the website), they do have a phone number which can be found here: http://www.evaair.com/html/b2c/english/glo...ouns/Europe.htm

  • 4 weeks later...

Had this same problem before...

Just bring your old card with you and show it to them, they just want to see that the card used in the transaction is yours and in your possession.

Also, if your still unsure just bring an old paper statement with that credit card number on it, in particular it would be even better if you have the one with your ticket purchase transaction on it just to prove it...

As I stated this has happened a couple times to me.... Fraud the first time and I just kept the old card... And the second time my credit card co. changed the number and issued a new card. I cut the old one up, forgot about needing it for EVA. Anyway I just told them it was the same card but with a changed number. They just had me fill out and sign some form and I was on my way.

Hope that helps

The credit card doesn't need to be valid at the time of check-in, only at the time of booking. You are only required to present the card that was used to make the booking.
A case of 'better safe than sorry'.... I can't recall when I was asked to produce the credit card I booked with yet...for a flight.
