The Odd Couple

I am directing the female version of "The Odd Couple" to run on the 3rd, 4th and 5th April 09.

 

Although the cast is predominatley female there are 2 roles for men. The characters are the neighbours and have a date with the 2 main ladies. They are Spanish/mediterrean and speak with heavy accents.

They have a relatively small role but it is a very important one and sets a couple of very funny scenes.

 

If you are interested, then auditions are on 12th January in the evening.

My acting days are over, but I was quite the thespian in high school. We did the Odd Couple during my senior year. I wanted to play the Felix Unger role (Jack Lemmon in the movie, Tony Randle on the TV show), but my best friend won the role. I got the supporting role of Vinnie, the nerdy poker player. It was great fun to play, and no it wasn't a case of type casting.

Grew up on the TV show - wanting to be more of an Oscar than a Felix.

Jack Lemmon sure did put together a body of work. And Tony Randall, WOW - married a 25 yr old when he was 75 - my hero.
