US Airline prices have dropped

Recommended Posts

I booked my flight on Northwest airlines from the Twin Cities to BKK and it cost $1400. I looked today and it had dropped to $900. Luckily I was able to go in and rebook the same flight. The total difference is $446.00 so they charge $250 for rebooking and my net gain is then $196.00. That $196.00 is given back as an e-certificate which I can use on another flight. Flights out of LA have been listed at around $700 on China Air. (Actually have to go through Orbitz for the cheaper fare but good deals are popping up.) Maybe business will pick up in Pattaya.

Optimistic outlook but I think flight prices are dropping because business is down!

I'm going to have to check on the refundable prices. When I come back it'll be one way, but it's generally cheaper to buy a round trip and then get a refund on the second half of the ticket. Then again, maybe not.

I just don't want to have trouble having not return ticket.

The eventual downside is airlines will cut routes and frequency of flights giving us less options.

They like to call it consolidating.

Get it in while we can!

NW,recently purchased by Delta,is downsizing the equipment from BKK to NRT in March.Even though the load factor between BKK and NRT is good, that widebody can make more money flying from US to Europe because the yield is higher.

Consolidating is combining 2 routes and adding all the previous stops into 1 flight.

Yes I think they are going from the A330 to a 757. It will be a much more uncomfortable 8 hour flight.
