BA / Quantas will fly you from Manchester to Heathrow then on to Bkk for £404. But if you just go from Heathrow on the same flight it's £412. The Hrow - BKK leg is of course direct. Strange times...

Sorry, not Airnet (must've been thinking about Ena Sharples again) but http://www.netflights.com

(Latest offers showing from £339). - On p1 Has flight leaves Manchester eg June 11th 15.30 to HRow 16.30 then wait for the 22.00 -15.20 to BKK ( a long wait). But that second leg 22.00 flight is available straight from HRow but at £412.

When you actually process the booking it comes out as 454 quid ex-MAN and 407 quid ex-LHR.

Thanks Tom, fair enough. I see some flights from Heathrow match the £201 fare, it's the tax and fees element that makes Mchester more expensive. So I read this that BA / Quantas are pitching to bus people down from Manchester, absorb the cost of that flight just to fill seats en route to Bkok...?

That pretty much sums it up. It's on the cards that Singapore Airlines will be adopting a similar operation and dropping its Manchester service in the not too distant future.

Getting down the M60 and M6 without delays is unlikely.....

Then again travelling on BA without delays is too!

Looks like SQ will pull Manchester-Singapore W.E.F 1st Oct. Rumour also Emirates will commence morning departure from Manchester giving three departures a day to Dubai. Future SQ customers will be routed through LHR to feed the A380.

Any idea what the latest news is with Qatar? I saw the April figures and can't really see how QR can continue at MAN and I don't want to be left holding a load of airmiles that will be of no use to me.

Yes i agree latest Qatar figures are not good. Lets see what QR do when Emirates go 3 x daily? Also same applies to Etihad ! Rumour is QR could route the Manchester service via another EU country ? Lets hope QR continue as i will be flying with them ex Manchester to HKG in September.
