Hi,

Burnley were the stars of the weekend, getting their first away point at the ultra rich Man City. Man Utd played a sound tactical game but were undone by a sucker punch from John Terry. Arsenal keep in the hunt with an easy win against Wolves.

I thought Man U had a couple of bad decisions go against them. And that Drogba twat gets worse. He had to be lifted up, he was in agony :P , then when Evans didnt get sent off he made a remarkable instant recovery :lsmile

Hi,

Another good performance by Sunderland against one of the top 4. Chelsea look impressive again while Everton look very poor against Man Utd. The Liverpool teams need some money and they need it fast. Time to show Americans the door as they have none.

Hi,

Old Traffordish refereeing seems to be on a Nationwide tour this year. :P Rooney seems to have carte blanche to dive in the box as much as he likes because England are hoping he can win the World Cup for them next Summer. UEFA need to have a close look at some of the refs in the Premiership for sure. Liverpool are lucky to beat Everton in a poor quality game. Chelsea prove much too good for Arsenal in an excellent performance.

Hi,

A real old fashioned English game, though only 8 Englishmen is the starting 22, as Man City beat Chelsea in a great game. Tottenham fail to beat struggling Everton and remain in 4th place.Man Utd remain in trouble financially.

Glazer family hit the wall over refinancing of Manchester United

James Ducker, Helen Power

The Glazer family, the owners of Manchester United, are struggling to refinance their enormous debts amid concerns about the impact they are having on the club.

The Times understands that the Americans have been trying unsuccessfully to secure a refinancing package for part of the club’s £699 million debt for months, having failed in 2007 and last year, because of the bleak global economic climate.

It is understood that United are operating well within the financial terms set by their lenders. However, Perry Capital and Citadel — the two US hedge funds that provided the Glazers with PIK loans — get a range of rights over the club in the event that their financial performance falls beneath a certain level, including the right to appoint their own directors to the board.

Ultimately, they could seize control of the club should revenues plummet.

Documents obtained by The Times also reveal that the terms of the loan put a cap on United’s spending.

Not good. Sounds like they wont have any money to bolster the squad during the transfer window.

Hi,

I got some flak when I said that the Ronaldo money was for the debt. I think Man Utd need a rich Arab to take over the club from the Glazers but they will wait in the wings in case it all goes tits up and they can get the club at a much lower price. Several other clubs have serious problems. :D

Hi,

A good weekenf for gooners as Man Utd lose at home and Chelsea drop points against Everton. Arsenal beat Liverpool in a scrappy game but Wolves have a great win against Spurs. Lets hope Arsenal can make it a 3 way scrap for the title despite key players out injured. Tevez looks good for Man City who drop points as well.

Hi,

Arsenal make ground as Man Utd lose again and Chelsea draw with West Ham. Aston Villa are performing well and visit London this weekend to play Arsenal. Man City sack Mark Hughes despite losing fewer games than anyone. Liverpool seem in trouble and will do well to finish in the top 4. Another Italian manager in the Premiership. :thumbup

Hi,

The end of the year and more or less half way in the Premiership. Chelsea continue to lead the way from Man Utd and Arsenal. Not a great league this year IMO as the credit crunch affects the quality of players. Man City should be in a strong position financially to prosper as they have money while most are cutting back budgets and some may go bust. Megson sacked by Bolton as fans seem to hate the guy. Liverpool struggle this year but seem the most likely club to get Arab money as they are a big Worldwide brand.

Chelsea are having a wobble, even before Drogba and co go to play in the African cup. Their diamond formatin doesnt seem to work , but Ancellotti dropped it during the last game.

Who do you think will win.

I say, Man U. Top four same as always , as Spurs , Villas, Man Ciity and Birminghams bottle goes.

Hi,

I'm still with Chelsea even though I hope Arsenal can surprise me and see it home. Man Utd and Liverpool have big problems off the pitch with finance which seems to be affecting their purchasing plans. Man City could make a late dash for the prize.

Hi,

Chelsea looked at their best as they slaughter Sunderland. Arsenal stand up to the physical play of Bolton to give their fans hope. Man Utd struggle but eventually get the better of Burnley. Everton continue their recent run with an excellent win over Man City. Not many big spends in the window yet and few of the teams seem to have much money.

Hi,

Arsenal take the lead in Premiership. Had to say that as it might be the only time I can. It looks a 3 way run to the title now that Spurs seem to be living up to Obsessions forecast. Liverpool back in the running for a Champions League place.

I just hope the Arsenal Goalie, gets his act together, or Brentford will lose our on loan Polish lad.

We have taken to him and he seems to enjoy playing for us.

Only 19. with a great future at Arsenal and for Poland- Another Tomelchevski ! I was at Wembley that night, surrounded by Polish supporters. It was 'Orrible. :gulp

Hi,

I've seen enough of Almunia. We have the Polish International goalkeeper as of now so I suppose your guy is safe for the time being. If he is another Toma? he will do for me.

Well seeing as chelski keep failing to capitalise on their opportunities to pull away from us I get the feeling they are going to pay for it and the title will be going back to OT......AGAIN.

And villa I have just read this thread right through and you are a fucking wanker to take the piss out of the Munich tragedy. To take the piss put of people that have died in a plane crash says a lot about you.

Hi,

His name is Wojciech Szczesny.

The Late Kickoff TV programme ran an article about him Monday night. ( I wondered what the Cameras were doing a at Ealing Road End last home game. )

The rest of the team call him Chez. I will try and get him to autograph my club flag next week for my birthday.

Hi,

Just as easy to spell as Toma? :D

Sky Sports were outside Griffin Park yesterday, asking Brentford fans their view of this young goalie. I was one of them. At the end of the interview, the guy held up a notepad with the goalie's name on and each interviewee had to pronounce it, as best we could. :D

Should be a good game at The Bridge today. At least no one is running away with things at the top.

It's got draw written all over it and United go back to top where they stay for the rest of the season.

Hi,

Saw that clip. Were you shown on TV? Chelsea prove too strong for Arsenal so it's a 2 way fight for the title now.
