Residence Garden Suite question

Recommended Posts

They did not in March 2007 when I stayed there. They didn't even check IDs then.

I imagine it is the same.

edit: oh and I brought back more than one from FLB once.

They were easy to get extra towels from also, even at night. I can't remember if they charged for them but it was not on the spot.

Appreciate the info. I heard this was a nice hotel to stay at. I also like that it is close to Jomtien beach. How would you rate the hotel....1-10??

8.0, seemed really nice when i was there in march. i stayed for a month in an apartment and now $40+ seems a little high for pattaya, and it's not that close to jomtien beach about 10-15 minutes by baht bus....

It is pretty close to Walking Street right??? Would one be able to walk there...no pun intended.

I think it's a nice walk. However, some people think that a 10 minute hike is too far. I often walk from the RG to the Soi 2 area for a soapie. It's a damn fine feeling after that walk :rotflmao  Even the beer tastes better.

I would say to give the RG a try, if you don't like it, you can always move.

You are welcome!

It is about 15 minutes from Jomtien by baht bus and about a 15 minute walk to WS (20 when drunk).

The only negatives I have is I found other hotels in Pattaya for the same or less that put me right in Pattaya. Also, I found the mattresses to be very hard.

But there are many plusses, especially for a newbie.

I would not stay there again but I am not sorry I stayed there on my first trip!

What is your hotel daily budget?

There are many good hotels in Pattaya right in the heart of the action.

Check out the Marriott at the Royal Garden Shopping Center. I stayed there a few years ago and really enjoyed my stay. Great location.

Well sir, my last few trips i have stayed at the Areca on Soi Diana, The LK Metropole on Soi Diana and the Pasadena Lodge on Soi LK Metro. All can be Googled (message me if you have problems, a lazy Saturday night)

Next trip it is Easiny 7 on Soi 7.

My question to you is, what do you want from your trip? Where do you want to go day and night?

There is no one answer but these are the right people to help you!!!!!!!!!

This will be my first trip there so I want to try to experience it all. I have few friends that have gone this past year and they had a blast.

I am 28, so I am definitely looking to get a taste of the nightlife....in all its flavors. But, I also want to take in the culture, sites, and definitely some scuba diving. Unfortunately, I might be there solo, which I don't have a problem with. I have had some of the best times going places by myself. I will probably be in city for about 10 days.

I really dig the style of the Pasadena Lodge...how did you like your stay there, and it seems to be pretty close to the nightlife action.

My one complaint is the shower hot/cold was hard to control. Other than that I liked it but, no pool and no food on site.

For the money good bargain. They check IDs.

Looks nice, but it's claim of "a few steps from the sea and the famous walking street" need to be revisited...it simply ain't that close.

Does this hotel charge a hotel fee for bringing back guest??

Have stayed at the RG for all my trips and have never been charged for having over-night guest.

It is a great place to stay, the staff is friendly, the rooms are large and clean, have large in room safe, 2 large pools. they offer free wifi, there is a ATM, massage, Mini Mart, laundry right across the steet. It is on a main baht bus route so no problem getting a bus.

Tangent, thanks for the pics. I am going to try this hotel out on my trip in Oct/Nov. The more I come to Pattaya, the more I find that where I stay is an important choice (within budget constraints of course). I have stayed at Secrets, which is nice and cheap and close to the action that I like i.e walking street.....but it can be noisy in the morning, and there is not much else to do there. Penthouse hotel is great for the purposes of fulfilling sexual fantasies as those rooms are setup for that....but prices are high, noise is a problem in the day, and they require a stupid non-refundable deposit. Pattaya Bay Resort was nice, little ways away from walking street, which makes it more of a challenge to find your way back to the hotel after a night of drinking....but it did offer a pool/fitness center...etc....and was relatively quiet in the day.

Look forward to trying this one out!!!

I'm not too sure but I've heard some very good reports from some golfer I play with here at home, he lives in Pats 66 months of the year so is very much a local he will be there on my next visit only 24 more sleeps away. I will be shown the sights there by him and report back while I am there as this year taking the lap top as I am staying for 30 nights. Anyway apparantly it's on the left heading towards Jontiem down a small soi just passed the RG. I'll post some pics.

I have never been charged a joiners fee at the RG. I have seen them check my girl’s ID, but this was rarely. I have stayed there on three trips now and will be there again in February. I like the staff and everything the hotel doesn’t have is located right across the street. Also, you are able to jump on a baht bus in front of the hotel and the route takes you right by the WS entrance and by four of the shopping malls. On my last trip in January I took a look for a comparable hotel in the WS area and was not able to find one that I was happy with.

Good luck in your search!
