LK Metopole or Tim's Botique

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to stay at some place slightly more upmarket this trip. I have been looking at Tim's Botique and LK Metrople. My biggest concerns are location, swimming pool, and jacuzzi in room. I know where LK is located, but I can't quite recall where Tim's is. I'm also not sure about their swimming pools. I like to relax by the pool during the afternoon. I also really wanna take a jacuzzi bath with a hot T.G.! What do you guys think? Please advise. Thanks!

I stayed at the Metropole a couple of years ago and it was a nice hotel, only problem i had was the water pressure in my shower was poor.

Tim's is supposed to be good but can be pricey

Tim's have a special on superior rooms for up to end of October

Tim Boutique. If you go down Soi Diana to 2nd road, turn left. Go past Kiss foods, the two massage places, the pahrmacy and on about 100 feet is a small soi. Turn left and you see it on the left. That is about all that is down there.

I have not stayed but the lobby looks nice.

I have stayed in the LK Metropole. Large comfortable room. Pool is accessed through the lobby as it is out front. Smallish pool.

Areca has the best pool (out back - the one off the lobby is small) but I do not recommend hotel although others here certainly do.

I just finished staying at Tim's and stayed last year at the Metropole. Tim's is a very short distance from 2nd road just around the corner from Tim's beer bar. Beds are nice and large, the room I was in had a very large soaking tub but no jacuzzi. I think if you pay more you can get a room with jacuzzi. Staff is excellent. Very attentive and friendly. Restaurant not so great and somewhat expensive. Swimming pool is on top floor and very nice. They have a swim up bar where you can order a drink. Metropole is farther down Soi Diana close to Soi Buhkao. The room I had was a suite so separate living room and bedroom. Did not use the pool as it did not look comfortable to me. If you like LK properties you might look at the Renaisance(?) as it is also on Soi Diana but closer to 2nd road. I would take Tim's over Metropole based on larger soaking tub, pool, and location. I booked though Agoda and it cost approximately 1700 baht a night. While there I tried to extend my stay by a few days and they told me I would have to book again through Agoda as they could give me a better deal. Ended up going to Pattaya Bay resort which was only 999 baht a night with breakfast for two included and also free Wi Fi. Tim's charged 300 baht for 24 hours of Wifi.

Since I have stayed at all these, some comments.

Tim's is a very good room, but the price varies. I will stay there at 2000, not 3000.

LK Rennasance has a GREAT suite. If you want to spend 3600 or so, it is the place. But the other rooms are no better than Tim's, and cost more.

Pattaya Bay Resort has quality rooms. though somewhat sterile. It is right behind Adventure Mall. It is quiet and the mechanicals work well. A sound choice.

I stayed at the LK in July and love the place. Location is great and the staff couldn't be friendlier. However, if relaxing by the pool is a big draw then cross the LK off your list. It is small and uninviting with no facilities close to hand.

I checked the PBR out last time I was in Patts in June. The bathroom's shower is right next to the toilet with no separation. This is very common in Thai establishments. The Pasadena Lodge is a much better accomodation and price IMHO.
