Cebu Pacific airlines

I recently booked a flight from BKK to MNL and beyond, with Cebu Pacific airlines.

 

Upon entering all the data required to make an online booking, my first credit card was "declined" so no booking right?..

 

So I break out another debit card and bingo..it is accepted and I am all set.

While checking my accounts online, I see a charge to Cebu airlines on the CC that was originally "declined"!!!

 

And sure enough, the debit card was charged as well..as was expected.

 

Now I have paid TWICE for ONE seat on ONE flight!!!!

 

I am furious beyond furious about this so I sent an email to customerservice@cebupacificair.com and explained what had happened.

Waiting and waiting for 3 days no response from them.

 

I send another email outlining the very same problem.....again no response.

 

Now, thoroughly frustrated and making an international long distance phone call from California to the Manila call center is out of the question due to the costs......I write my credit card company a secure mail and dispute the double booking from Cebu.

 

Long story short, the CC company credited back my account with a disputed situation.

 

So now I write Cebu a THIRD time to the their customer service email......NO freakin reponse again.

 

By this time, I am now in BKK and make the call to Manila from my Thai mobile......

Jaysuss...that ate up 200 baht for the call in a heart beat, but I did manage to get to talk to a real person.

 

My account has now been credited and all is well.

 

My rant is about the shitty customer service with Cebu..take caution friends about them if you do book online with Cebu and have any issues.

they seem to have a lot of problems with credit card bookings, particularly from outside RP. I was rejected the first two tries, success the next time and the card has been okay ever since. If there was a better option from bkk to clark at a good price I woulod give them the chop very quickly

Yeah - have had similar problems with them booking online. No response to online query why booking not confirmed and made several telephone calls to them before getting to talk to a person but still little action. Eventually sorted after about 3 weeks. Actually had query from my cc company about the payment so I suspect Cebu Pacific custom not all that well appreciated by the major credit card providers.

 

Another quite humorous occurrence with Cebu Pacific - I cancelled a flight for a certain person back from Bkk to Manila earlier this year without that person knowing. Cebu's explanation to that person about the cancelled booking when they turned up to board was that it had been booked with a stolen credit card. Either they are completely inept or pretty smart at resolving what surely was a volatile situation at their check in counter.
