I was/am very tempted to book for our September trip but the dates aren't just right.

Problem I am having its going to be school holidays here and specials end one week before and start one week after.

Jetstar really are the pits though :D any problems and they don't want to know, service is shit as well.

Out of Sydney Emirates are about $800 return, only down side is the late arrival into Bangkok, about 1am, but service and on board entertainment is great IMO.

My experience with Emirates and any problems, need to change dates they are very helpful, delayed flights which are rare they will look after you, Jetstar, your on your own with and attitude of "tough"

I get Emirates and then stay at an airport hotel, the Grand Residence, only 5 mins from the Airport and a room is 800 Baht including breakfast and the airport transfer, rooms are basic although clean and comfotable and its a quiet location with friendly staff, i then get the Bell Bus to Pattaya the following morning.

heard Air Asia out of Brisbane is very cheap but expect it will be on par with jetstar for service etc.

Unfortunately your poor cousins in the north have the choice of jetstar or swimming.

have flown Jetstar out Sydney before and again this time very cheap $420 return no fuss, just get us to LOS that's all we want.

Also flew with them to Japan early this year very cheap total cost $320 return, don't have anything to complain about.
