Delicious thread, and - as others have commented - an outstanding post from Gabor. Thank you all for some good suggestions, which I fully intend to follow up.

But I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned the all-day breakfasts at the Continental Bakery: excellent and well-priced. If you come down Thepprasit from Sukhumvit and turn left into Thappraya it's some 50 yards down on the left.

Must be this one ??

On that same street, there is a TexMex place that is good.Run by a former San Diego cop,Sam.Has daily specials and he brings many ingredients back from Mexico. Also delivers.Prices are reasonable. He owned restaurants in SD and Tijuana.

Must be expensive, flying to Mexico for ingredients? I wonder how he'd finance such trips.

It's really not on that same street at all, and few would find it without a map or clear directions.

But, I agree, Sam's has very good Tex Mex cuisine.

Edit in:

pattayaphotopages is very out of date, at least 3 years old, I think, but the geography of the streets is generally the same. Sam's Mexican is down a side soi off of Thappraya heading towards the beach. Here is a picture of what I believe is the soi, before the whole area, shown under construction, has been built up and changed visually so that you wouldn't recognize it by this picture.

Go down this soi, and turn left. There is a long block of shops, restaurants and massage places running parallel to Thappraya. Sam's is the first on your left.

No, wrong road. It's here on Thappraya.

I was by there a few weeks ago, and the road was all torn up in this section. I hope it's better now.

A great place, good breakfast and the best homemade yoghurt and marmelades in the town....

Are there still road works and construction in front of the Continental?

In progress...:whistling:

Is that a yes?

And to bigdelta, I modified my reply here to include a description of how to get to Sam's Mexican, as well as a map reference.

Now i am confused,

The one i posted was on Thappraya road,

http://www.pattayaphotoguide.com/?3ZnRUX7mkcBCQDRA

Yours is about 50 yards further along the same road

If you look at my link and see the "continental bakery" van parked just outside, past the van

you can see the "romeo house" whatever that is and your one is next door to that

I assume they are part of the same group because when the OP mentions continental bakery, the one that

came to mind was this one

http://www.pattayaphotoguide.com/?dFvRUH4rkcYC

which is the one i like if i don't fancy Canterbury tales or crazy daves.(just around the corner from them)

I am confused too, because the first link you posted showed me Thapprasit Road.

It's too late to go check it, but it's there in your earlier post.

Edit in: it's not that late. I went to your prior post and clicked on it...and voila (or should I say "walla"?), it showed the correct location. I think we should blame it on photoguide doing a system upgrade or something.

Yes, that is the right location.

And, further, I prefer the one over on Soi Exzyte, and do not like the one in Jomtien at all.

But, now, after several years, I seldom give either of them any business. Too many other good choices.
