This is not a bad deal business class. Granted Aerosvit is pretty much a plain jane airline but service in business class is good and the seats are the same as business class seats on the rest of the major airlines. Food is about the same as on the rest of the airlines.

I flew with this airline in Feb. When I arrived at JFK they contacted me and told me that my flight from JFK to Kiev was delayed by 4 hours which would cause me to miss my connection in Kiev to Bangkok and they only fly that route every other day. Their customer service supervisor was most helpfull and rebooked me on Lufthansa to Frankfurt (business class) and from Frankfurt to Bangkok on Thai Airways (first class) so the trip over was not bad at all.

On the return flight I flew Aerosvit from BKK to Kiev and then from Kiev to JFK.(all business class) when I returned in April. I can not say how it was in coach but business class was fine unless you need a tv in the seat backs and they do not offer these, just one large screen in the front of the cabin. Other than this no difference from the other airlines. Cabin was clean and food was pretty much the same. Their business class lounge in Kiev was very nice with good food and any drinks you wanted at no charge.

Next best business class fare I could find was around $5,000. (US)

 That's stretching things a bit. Maybe the same as major US airlines, but certainly not the same as major European, Asian or Middle Eastern Airlines that fly from the USA.

Cathay flight is pretty damned nice for economy class. You lose the seating but gain the seatback entertainment. The entertainment is a deal breaker for me. I spend much of my time watching movies. I have sometimes have problems sleeping when I travel. Even with decent business class seats, but, I have never flown first class. :grin

Decided against a pissing contest despite the lame attemp at a swipe toward US airlines.

What the fuck are you on about? :clueless

The guy claimed "the seats are the same as business class seats on the rest of the major airlines". I have said they're not comparable to the major European, Middle Eastern or Asian airlines - statement of fact. It is the OP that is comparing Aerosvit to the major, presumably US, airlines, since two of the three aircraft in their fleet were kitted out by United and TWA in the 1990s.

Maybe the OP will clarify which airlines he had in mind when he made the comparison. :party

The OP is misleading at best for some newbie who may book with the airline and expect to get a lie-flat/flat bed business class seat as is found on most of the major European, Asian and Middle-Eastern airlines.

You paid more for flights for one trip than I did for 3 trips, cattle class is fine for me as I sleep most of the time on the plane. ... Usually there is a monitor on the seat in front to watch movies.

Time of booking is important, a seat in cattle class for my next trip costs about €1600 now but when I purchased my seat it was only €588.

I suppose if you are very rich and want to get rid of money then you will fly business class. ..... Most companies send their employees economy class nowadays.

Maybe if I win the €100 European lottery on friday I will consider going business class.

That's not a bad price at all. I would pay it. It's a hell of a whole lot better than paying $4000-5000+ for business class seat on other airlines. That's ridiculous. However this flight is on the East Coast and stops in Ukraine? Does it fly over the Atlantic or Pacific? They wouldn't happen to have any flights out of SFO would they?

It is not just a question of getting rid of money.

In economy you are treated like sheep, and spend hours wandering around terminals trying to find someplace to sit and kill time.

When you are older, comfort and money shift in priorities. Standing in a long line to check in for an hour isn't a good start to a 20 hour journey.

do you know what the normal cattle class airfare is off hand ???

I looked up their coach fare. $1,593.59. That is much too much for coach.

:chogdee That's stretching things a bit. Maybe the same as major US airlines, but certainly not the same as major European, Asian or Middle Eastern Airlines that fly from the USA.

I found the seats to be the same as on Lufthansa, Thai, & Cathy Pacific. I have flown them all.

I don't care about the lack of a tv monitor in the back of the seat. I read or sleep and never watch the tv on long flights.

I will try to take some pics this time.

I am 6' 4" and 260 lbs. I don't fit in a coach seat too well and it is quite a long flight from the US to BKK so a few extra dollars are well spent as far as I am concerned. I enjoy their lounges as well.

JFK is their only port of call in the USA.

On their long-haul products LH and TG both have lie-flat seats in biz and CX has flat-beds. What does Aerosvit have?

Those are some awful reviews they have. Based on what I've read I don't think I'd fly with them if they paid me!

I felt sorry for the reviewer who lost his bag with Aerosvit...and Aerosvit didn't reply to his emails asking where his stuff was for two months....

he later found himself traveling to Honduras where he spied a bunch of poor kids wearing the same clothes he had in his lost suitcase.

You can always keep yer fingers crossed that your flight is delayed again and they re-book you Lufthansa and Thai :chogdee

Based on what reviews say about what happens if flight is delayed which is quite often, they don't re-book you, don't reimburse you hotel, food, nothing. And then they'll charge you more to get on a flight the next day. This Aerosvit definitely sounds like an airline to avoid. I don't know about ya'll, but when I read reviews that bad I don't go ahead and see if I can get better service to counter others say. I've found a lot of people like to do this for some reason.
