Each night at the moment there seems to be a firework display at around 8.50pm is this the usual time?

Would the PBG be a good place to view?

Thanks for help and info...

Hi

There is a firework display at Bali Hai pier every night, starting approx 8.30pm

so could be that one.

I think they started the displays on the 25th, running through to the 31st.

There`s obviously other ones as well.

You could walk up to Bali Hai pier(turn right out of FLB, keep going and it`s about 5 or 10 mins walk, depending on distractions along the way.)

PBG should also be a good place to view from.

Enjoy!

Cheers Paul,

Was unsure about the timing so that helped.

Yeah thought that the outside area at PBG would be good..

New Year's Eve will be the best display.

Fireworks not just from Bali Hai - but also right round the bay.

My best spot to see this was from the roof of Center Condo, off Pattaya Tai.

Lift to 16 floor.

To avoid flyers/jumpers, don't park too near. :hairout

Great view near mikes shopping mall on beach, can see displays from all around the bay and no crazy crowds like baly hi.
Bali Hai was absolutely murder....... too many people.

The stupidity of it all was to pemit the erection of stalls and allow vendors to park anyplace thereby creating dangerous bottlenecks... you know like the ones where people can get panicky and crushed. It took 45 minutes to get from Soi 15 to the pier, and 30 to come back after the display.. not so good this year.

I saw tempers frayed ... note to rude Russians, shouting in Russian at Thais serves little purpose......

Similar attitudes like those you see in Songkran whereby some celebration is supposedly a permission to assault, a big fight started when some Brit brat sprayed string-foam 3 inches from the face of a big Indian guy... who gave him a superb right hook. Then mates all got involved... Happy New Year!

I wish I had gone the other way, but the stalls on beach rd also made progress difficult when I came that way earlier.

I heard that Wong Amat/ Naklua were easier and the view good.

Next year, if crowd control is not considered more, someone could die.

I also wondered if the pier was built to be loaded like that!

I have no problem with the vendors but is a person who sets up shop and sell water and beer out of a cooler a vendor? Cut out most of those and it would make room. Also have them set up and remove the cars and trucks . But thats forward thinking and it just aint gonna happen here. I enjoy the fireoworks else where amougnst the soi's it was fun to lite off a couple rounders of firecrackers and shoot silly string at passer bys.

This pic is from Dec 30th from the view of the RG so It was probally a good place to see the 31st fireworks as well. And the RG had some cannons of thier own too
