Not so good, they charge you for both outgoing and return flights, still adds up to about the same or more than Thai Airways from LAX straight to BKK. The one I looked at as LAX to BKK via HKG. Sure it looks good when you first start searching, but not so good when you get the reservation page.

Maybe I'm missing something. And Air Asia Shanghai to BKK is fairly cheap, I think.

How much extra do they charge to have your bags in the same location and at the same time as you?

If you are thinkig about making a connection thru Shanghai, be aware that you must go thru immigration and customs when you arrive. If you have checked bags, you must pick them up and then go up to departures and recheck them on your next flight.

 

There is no transit procedure as in other airports such as Tokyo, Hong Kong, Inchon, or Taiwan.
