A man walks into his local council office and says to the receptionist, "I would like to put my name forward for the forthcoming election to be a Member of Parliament."

 

The receptionist replied "Certainly sir. Please fill in this form."

 

So he was completing the form happily until he came to the question asking "Are you circumcised?"

 

So he asked the receptionist "Is that question necessary and relevant?"

 

She replied "If you are circumcised you are not eligible to apply."

 

He asked what difference would it make if he was circumcised?

 

She replied "To become an MP, you have to be a complete prick."

It may be Brit-specific in its wording, buit I think it applies to politicians pretty much everywhere.
