Does the Kindle 3 work OK in Thailand?

Recommended Posts

I have a kindle 3G and it works fine in Thailand for papers if you have set your account to get them

either in free wifi spots or using the free 3G connection, but you will only get edge coverage as there

is no 3G, at least there wasn't in November, will see next week if there is.

here is a link to site that shows coverage in Thailand for the Kindle 3G connection.

Enough wi-fi spots to probably work OK 3G or not. And if you are not going to depend on 3G then you save money, too. Wi-fi only model.

If you want newspapers then an iPad or computer and the Pressreader application is a great deal.

I pay US$30 a month and have access to 1,700 papers - not these naff summaries of papers but a copy of the whole paper just like you would buy with adds and classifieds.

I was paying $63 a month for two local papers here. I now can read all local papers (worth $120 a month) plus just about any in the world.

Bangkok Post and Pattaya People Weekly are available so are most US and UK papers, the Star, the Sport (boobies mainly).
