I just read on ThaiVisa that a 2 meter wave had hit Chonburi: quote from TV:

"Meanwhile, a two-metre high wave hit Chon Buri province on Wednesday night, completely destroying five houses and sinking 10 boats.

"I've never seen a wave this high before. It was up to two-metres high," fisherman Muen Jitkawan said, adding that his fellow fishermen were talking about the possibility of a tsunami hitting Pattaya."

Anybody know anything about this? Here is the link to the article in TV:

We were out on the water yesterday afternoon/evening and the swell was around 1.5 - 2.0m so that's really not a lot of news.Wind gusts were up to 35km/h. Yeah it was cold, but FFS it's still a lot better than many other places, even on a bad day.

The funniest comment was from my captain who claimed that the wind yesterday was the result of the tsunami in Japan. I just had to shake my head and walk away.

BTW the boats sink predominately because they are not maintained AT ALL. I'm waiting for the inevitable day when one of the "always overloaded" Koh Larn ferries sink and do huge damage to the local tourism industry. Not everyone comes here to see Walking St, Bukhao or Metro.

Cheers :unsure:: Admiral Ken

Went for a walk to the Pier and with Pattaya being packed to the rafters with russians watched in amazement as a ferry from Koh Larn arrived backed , it looked to be overloaded by 50% , but with so many Russian , Indian Arab travellers who seem to have little idea about courtesy and who all rush to be first on or off the boat as the boat was coming into port it was at about a 40% angle and the back of the boat was about 3 inches above sea level.

This was the ferry at about 4.30 so id hate to see the final ferry of the day.

I think your prediction will come true.

Plus, it's a scientific fact that greenhouse gases focus right in on Chon Buri province, Thailand.
