i use that one also but i had a problem with my switch only paid out a few baht i was just trying it the guy before me said the same go to the one in tops it pays more out,but for changing notes and travellers its ok very handy,saves waiting for your mates when they are cashing in near walking street bcoz they couldnt be bothered to wake up in the morning,i was kept waiting in the rain one night for a fucking English come german chappie [smiley=rotflmao.gif]

As a financial advisor might say... it depends on your attitude to risk :). A couple of plus points for travellers cheques are... if you lose them or they are stolen you are almost certain to get your money back and you get a slightly better exchange rate with them.  A Minus point is the cost of purchase which also sometimes includes a commission element.  More and more people seem to be bringing their ATM cards from home and using them in the Pattaya ATMs

Nationwide Buiding Society doesnt charge for atm withdrawal abroad so stick your money there and get 2.5 interest from current account and use cashpoint.

 

I just opened one up, it took ten minutes and had visa/debit card within a week.

 

They charge £20 to put money into my Thai bank but Lloyds TSB only charge £13 and ususally get it there in 2 days even though they quote 4-5 days.
