I will be staying in Pattaya for app. 6 months starting Sept or early Oct.

Thinking of booking Maxx Central, looks like a nice place at a competative price.Has anyone any experience of this place.

Thanx

I wonder how inconvenient it is to stay that far from beach rd etc.

My thoughts exactly and not that flash to get back to at 3 in the morning. Would it not be sounder to book in some where for a week and go for a trip around and look before you leap? There is also the chance that you can negotiate one on one better.

To me not very inconvenient, its only about 100 mtrs farther away than where i normally stay on Soi Lengkee.

Which makes it les than 200 mtrs from Soi Buakhow, its also similar distance from Pattaya Klang.

Yes i agree with you,it is possible its in a dodgy area for late at night. The last time i walked past the place it was in construction and there was nothing else around it.I wonder if its any better now?

As with everything you have to compromise.Where i normally stay is now more than 20k and post credit crunch i wouldnt like to stretch my budget that far.

What im really hoping for is info from someone who has actually stayed there.

The place sound very good accommodation wise, is it GF? I am very interested, will call in next week and view.

I would anticipate it working out at 20k all up?

Well at around 10k for basic rent and 1200B for cleaning etc.I personally cant see it totalling 20K.Of course you have to add electric and water, but when you get acclimatised i cant see me using too much during the coolish season.

Its great you are going to check it out and i will be interested to get the low down.

I will be there May and June.

The draw back to me is location, I don't think baht bus runs near there.

13500, 2 month rate

2000 Electricity

2500 Cleaner

500 Water, near enough 20k.

I will keep you posted when I look next week.

I agree the location isnt great but if you look at places with better locations, the basic rent for a 37/39 sq mtr room with similar facilities would be nearer 20K.

I personally dont mind walking, and 250 mtrs ish is nothing to me,i used to walk from Soi Lengkee to Soi 8 most nights.

Cicero could you please ask if the option for UCB satelite TV is available in the studio rooms.Thanx.

I will ask re UCB, but I note no mention of same, if it was available I would have thought they would mention, as they like to go on about what is on offer.

I don't mind the walk, but it the heat and the walk that takes out of me.

Off topic Steve, have you heard of a place called Hayfield?

If you go to the site and click on units at the bottom of the page it states UCB available on demand in the larger units.

When im in Pattaya i walk 60 miles a week ive walked most routes from Banglamung to south Jomtien.

No ive never heard of Hayfiled, where is it and what is it?

Ill google it now.

Can you think of a reason that UCB would not be available in smaller units at a price.?

As a walker you can catch train to Hayfield and do a nice walk to Castleton.

I will ask re UCB.

That is where I am from, I had rellies in Oldham.

As a lad I used to watch lads such as yourself arriving on the train, setting off to walk up Kinder Scout.

I stayed there for 3 1/2 months recently. Don't have to worry about the walk home at night. It's not seedy. Just off the main road. The soccer park is open 24hrs under lights and usually lots of folks around. I could walk to Soi Buakhow and Diana intersection in 10 minutes. Not far from Carrfore or Festival Central. Pool ok for a dip but not for doing lengths.

Has underground parking and 24hr security. They use fingerprint technology for security which is hit and miss.

Nothing wrong with the place overall.

Thats great news, the distance from key areas was never a problem to me,it was just that last time i saw the place it was just a building site with waste lasnd surrounding it.

Are the prices still similar to those advertised on their website?
