lets face the fact that team barc hammerd man u best team won that messi is the best player i have seen. anybody watch it in patts

Of course plenty of people watched it in Patts, and in Thailand, despite the late hour. (Well a late hour for me but a regular hour to be in a bar for many). Quite disappointing that England's top side can be made to look so second rate.

Hi,

Bookies got hammered as well, even in England.

Exactly. You have to laugh , when supporters of second rate premierships clubs get such joy from their top team being so well beaten. Where does it out their team in the pecking order?

I'm a bit of a Man U fan. However, I wouldn't laugh at any team who had outperformed a team I support, unlike the anti Man U fest, all over the internet.

My local Glasgow team, Rangers, won the Scottish Premier League.........................Again :grin

Even more disappointing for the European teams Man.U. beat, to get to the final ? :whistling:

That's the trouble for Man Utd, it's lonely at the top.

I support a non league team myself and often ponder what all this hate is about, it's been going on for 2 decades, well, since Red Faced Fergie made them successful is the truth.

The latest bickering is this so called 'Ferige time', in spite of other teams also having 4,5,6 minutes added on, I think even a certain well known rival to Man U, had 8 minutes? added on at the end of their half this season just gone, do people class all this added on time in games not involving Man U as 'Fergie Time' also? :whistling:

My Dad, an Aston Villa fan explained things fairly well I think, the reason I asked him the question was that I noticed most people at work seemed to be backing Bayern Munich on the day of the 99 final, nobody (English people that are allegedly fit to wear three lions on their chest :whistling: ) wanted the ENGLISH TEAM WITH A LONG AND PROUD & WORKING CLASS HISTORY IN ENGLISH FOOTBALL to win.....anyway, I asked what this was all about? How could any self respecting English person not wish 'whatever' English team that reached a final good luck? Put their domestic differences aside so to speak, and say, now you've got there, go and win it for English football, an advert for our Premier League, the opposition were German too, a country we were once at war with, considering most English keep banging on about the war with an Anti-German feeling, this made it all the more puzzling. :clueless

''It's not about football son' replied my dad, you see, in his experience of seeing fans bicker at other fans, the truth is, most of them channel the reality of their own life's disappointments or failures at anything that is an easy target, the media do this too, if you are at the top of the tree, you are there to be shot at by those who suffer from that awful bitter, jealous resentment of anything successful, because their life, is in fact, probably quite shit.

Some fans however, are just simply thick as shit boneheads who can't see the bigger picture, the types that collect Banning Orders like trophies. Losers. :whistling:

Yes I watched game here in Khon Kaen ,did anybody watch here in Thailand, never seen so many of the large thai bars so full ,big following of Manchester united fans here in Thailand ,so all I can say many sad ppl after the game ,me included.

But the best side won for sure ,now it will give Alex a boost to look at his side and make changes where needed for the future.

PS never mind the result on the night a fantastic was had by everybody here ,great food ,cheap beer ,music ,dancing, beautiful ladies every where and that was before the football started .Must have been over 500 ppl at the Thai bar ,who says Issan is quiet haha

Not unlike the England team, every time they qualify for a World/European Cup ?

Every goal they score, sends a groan around three parts of these islands and cheers in only one :whistling:

Well said. It's ridiculous that Brits ( I'm shoe horning us non English Brits in for some pride :whistling: ), shouldn't be proud that a British team is probably the biggest team in the world , in the biggest league in the world. But Brits seems to love Eddie the eagle types and dislike winners. And as Mick said. It made for a great night and an interest past the season end. Wouldn't have been such a night if it was Schalke and Benfica etc.

Fergie time. I agree it's another piece of nonsense. It was timed later because of all the pissing and moaning from Eddie the Eagle fans!, and it was fair. The bit of extra time on top of the allocated 4 minutes or so was for a delay during the extra time. But there's no telling those conspiracy theorists!

A bit guilty of it myself tbh lol

I think alot of it tho is a dislike of "Gloryhunters"

I never liked Liverpool in the 80s for pretty much the same reason

The English have always been a supporter of the 'under dog'.

In Hounslow all I see is Asian and other kids with Liverpool- Man.U, Arsenal, Chelsea...... Team shirts. Yet the amount of them attending a a game at Brentford is minimal.

The downside of this for them, is they will never get that feeling we got last September, beating Everton on our own park.

That was our comparative European Final.

We get to Wembley once every 10 years, so that too is extra, extra special when we do.

It's like being married to frigid wife, you may not get sex as often as you would like, but when you do, it is sooo mush more enjoyable ! :lovee

I was hoping Man U would do well, I used to want Liverpool and Forest winning in the 70s they are the UKS represetatives in the competition...

Man Utds team is more suited to the EPL rather than the slick passing the Spanish League gives, even as an Arsenal fan you cant help admire Fergie.

I know what you mean, but imho, it's not so relevent nowadays regarding the English premiership as it's almost a world league in popularity and that most home teams have few if any locals in them. I love watching how the most succesful teams seem to win, even in the last minute. It's physcology that the lesser teams manage to throw away victory , even if they are 2 goals up and have to score OGs to do it :clap1

Man Utds team was built for the EPL, Carrick and Giggs in midfield was never going to be a match Carrick has mentally gone when playing Barcalona I was suprised Fergie played him.

A few weeks before Man Utd were played off the park by Arsenal who are the closest to Barca in the EPL, due to the power aspect of the EPL needs week after week Man Utds team were better suited.

Real Madrid would have beaten Man Utd as it were , well done to them for getting through Fergie does well but at the highest level in Europe kick and rush does not do it.
