[smiley=banghead.gif]  i am trying to find a shop that can unlock my nextel. it already has the asian sim and the usa sim cards. i recently drop service here in usa  do to very poor coverage area. i remeber reading post here but can not find it again ::). any suggestions in pattaya or bkk? First thing does the Nextel phone you want to use have tri bands?  Because not, all Nextel phones will work in Thailand. But if it does have the needed band then most larger phone shops can unlock the phone for you.  In Bangkok you can go to Pantip Plaza and they will be able to help you. In Pattaya try the Big C Mall and you should get your phone unlocked.

 

One last thought you have 60 days until you leave, several companies on Ebay will unlock the phone for you. But you will pay more than in Thailand.

thanks for replys. in thialand now have found that if you have nextel international phone it can not be unlock due to motarola 2000 i.  takes special computer adapter that has not been copied yet here. any one up for a beer if in pattaya now? reguards and cheers. off to T.Q. I have an unlocked dual band world phone I use with a USA subscription sim card.  Will I be able to use a Thai pay as you go type system?  I don't see any menus that allow entering a credit.

Guys I bought a Thai cell phone at the market thanks to my TG for 1000 Baht with 300 Baht calling time and 1 2 Call sim card I tested it and it works fine. I got it for a fellow board member because he is Cell Phone, And Computer dumb. Came with the Charger and a NEW Battery not one of those huge out of date things either this is small pocket size same as a 8290 Nokia.

 

The guy I got it from is at the market both days it is open and when I was there he had many good used phones to pick from.

 

The first Board member that guesses who the member was that I bought it for gets a couple of beers on me should be easy  ;D

[smiley=deal.gif] [smiley=grins-jump.gif]that is a good deal i paid 1500 baht for mine. if your phone is already unlocked all you have to do is go to big c or other market and buy calling card and number. have heard roumor that can have unlock at place on ebay. where did you get yours unlocked.  [smiley=cheers.gif] [smiley=party.gif] off to flb tonight to try see faces that go with the names .5:00 suday now cheers
