IMHO, "penthouse studio" is an oxymoron.

I once raised a question at a fire station open day about living in high rise buildings in the event of a serious fire.

 

This is what i was told: The largest turntable ladders extend about 100 ft straight up. On a commercial building it can only go as high as the 7th floor and no farther!

 

And for that reason i stay below the 7th floor.
