Hi,

Once again I'm arriving in Bangkok late at night and won't be getting to Pattaya until around 2:00am.  I know there has been a big crackdown on places staying open past 2:00am so I'm wondering where to go? I don't want to go to sleep right away after spending 24 hours on a plane.

I've heard that there are some discos (marine?) or other places that get going late at night. Anyone know where to go and kill a few hours?

Thanks

I found that the bars on Soi 8 were kicking and lively up to 4 am.  I bf'ed a girl at that point and took off though.   I have heard they stay open as long as guys want to drink.  They just dim the lights at 2 am.  As far as Discos I have heard that Marine closes at 2 am like all other venues on walking street due to the crack downs.  Excite might stay open later.

Excite Disco normally stays open till around 2.45 AM...

At least, it was like this last September.

Beer bars on soi 2 turn down the lights and music and stay open until 4 or so.     6 days until I hit the beer bars at 2AM on soi 2 or 8 or all the sois ;D ;D ;D  O yeah!

One morning in November when I was staying on Walking Street I got up early to go to breakfast.  It was 6AM or so, but there still seemed to be a few guys out playing pool and drinking beer at some of the beer bars.  Another night, I was out till at least 4AM at one of the beer bars.  I suppose I could have stayed even longer, so long as I was buying beer.

In jan this year was like this: if no police shows up then marine 2 is open from 0200(when marine stops about 0230) ;D untill 0400 then you go Boom or as called now Ibiza,,,, also many beer bars stay open but on the down low,,,, this is still better than bkk where 0200 is the latest,,,,,

When we were there in February, we observed that it was just the gogo bars closing at 2.  We were able to go to "regular" bars and dance clubs that stayed open much later.  Can't quite remember the exact time when they would close, as we were far too drunk to account for the time.

Yes, there are bars on Walking Street that are open 24hrs... Be careful though, not all the girls are the 500 baht type. I've seen one or two cases of guys having the way to the beach pointed out to them when they mentioned such a figure.  ;D
