The price of a specific computer has gone up, I said an incidence, I had it related to me, read more closely Joe.

I read quite closely, and you stated:

I do believe the floods are responsible for the price of computers going up though! I have had such an incidence related to me already.

"The price of computers" is the price of one computer, one time now? Not in my careful reading, it's not.

In any case, I didn't even dispute anything about the computer or the computers, either one. I disputed that the floods were responsible. Why do you believe the floods to be responsible for one or many computers going up in price? Wouldn't that be like.... strike that, would that not be precisely the same as blaming the floods for the cancellation of THAI flights to and from London? And we know the floods weren't (wholly) responsible for that! Don't we?

Is there a difference that my careful reading doesn't reveal? Or my small brain conceals?

Anyway........Because of the floods, (or because Thai Air are using the floods as a handy excuse for merging some flights and saving money), I'll now be getting to Pattaya at about 8 in the morning.

The place I'm staying is full and I won't be able to check in to my room until the afternoon. Given that I'll probably be desperate for a shower and change of clothes, where can I go for this? I don't recall seeing showers in the arrivals area at the airport and can't think of a place to go in Pattaya at that time of day. The only option I can think of is to rent a cheap room somewhere and use that. Or use the beach!! Any other ideas?

Cheers

Exactly.

Have you tried making a claim for the extra expenses?

No, couldn't be arsed to be honest.

Thai offerred a full refund if I wasn't happy with the change but that would just have left me with the hassle of rebooking something else. I've since found out that my non-refundable train tickets could be changed for a £10 fee so that's my only financial loss.

At the end of the day it could have been worse. For example the floods could have disrupted things at the airport.........

Thai Airways have announced Heathrow-Bangkok service for period 16/1-24/3 will

have the A340-600 replacing the B747-400.

Aren't the 747s due a retrofit?

Posted

Yes indeed - due for completion next month. Would appear Thai think they can better utilise their 747's on other routes with higher yields.

LOL. I wonder if they'll adopt a similar attitude when they get the A380s.

Posted

Well if anybody in the Airline Industry can predict what Thai Airways plans are

over the next few years can they also predict the Lotto numbers for me please !

Posted

Looks like the higher yields are on the Sydney-Bangkok route as the B747 are now

planned for this route in exchange for the A340 London-Bangkok covering the period

16/1 - 24/3.
