Big C has raised prices

Recommended Posts

We went to Big C for some shopping this evening. As I was filling our basket, everything I picked up was 10-15% higher in price. Many shelves were empty. When we got to the dog food isle, every dog trete, chew, and toy was gone, And little food on the shelves. Of course Rocky's preferred food was gone. Jane says we will have to go to Friendship Market to get dog food. I said as long as we are going there, we might as well do all our shopping there. We just walked out leaving our basket in the isle. Friendships prices were a lot lower than Big C, their shelves were full. Water was the only thing we couldn't find. They even had some items on sale, making a big price difference from Big C, who had raised their prices. Friendship looks like the place to shop if you don't want to get ripped off by someone cashing in on the floods.

Is that a local thing? Without knowing what items you are talking about it's difficult to make a comparison. I bought Red Cup Coffee, CoffeeMate and Fanta at my local Big C yesterday - all at prices I would expect to pay normally. I do agree that there were lots of empty shelves (although we do have plentiful supplies of Nam Thip), but our three Tops supermarkets seem to be coping pretty well.

As an aside, don't despair - water is on its way north ....
