Hey Guys;

Me and a friend are planning on playing 4 or 5 courses while in Pattaya March-April.  Thinking Laem Chabang, pheonix, Siam, and Khow Kheow.  Any other suggestions or  comments on these?  I've checked out PSC website and tried internet searches but was hoping for some FLB boardie feedback.

Thanks,

I have played Phenoix golf course a few times. It is not a very hard course but is a lot of fun and i don't need a hard course. Besides, love the caddies. I plant to play a few round April-May so would like to hear about some of the other courses.

Well, Laem Chebang is definitely the most difficult course ( and one of the most expensive unless you go on a special offer day ).

Pesonally I think Khaw Kheow is wonderful, as a modern designed course. Natural Park Resort ( or maybe it's Hills- they border one another) but I think it's Resort, has some of the most difficult greens I've ever seen, whilst Bangpra is a more mature course which is lovely too. The navy course at Sattahip has some nice 9's and amongst its 36 holes some very trying 9's.

To be honest I don't think there is a bad course in the area - my own bete noir is Green Valley, where I've never ever played well.

My recommendation would be, in order of play, Phoenix,  one of the Natural Park courses, Bangpra ( incidentally in my view it has the best clubhouse food, and you mustn't miss after your round a soak in the hot japanese tub ), Khao Kheow, Laem Chebang. You might swap Siam for Phoenix - the greens at Siam are detested by some people - they tend to be slower than on other courses.

You can't fail to enjoy it though

I'll be around March/April too for a couple of weeks - I play generally out of the Sugarshack as there is generally a congenial bunch play out of there.

I do have to give you guys alot of credit!

There is no way I had any energy to play golf when I was just there.

Do you play at night and still play golf?

Try the Pheonix. It's a pleasant day out. I found I could do 18 holes in the afternoon and still had the energy and enthusiasm to go out to do a few more "holes" of a night-time.  :D ;D

Hey,Beach Boy.

We have credit??

Where the hades do you have the energy to be a beach boy.I for one loathe the beach all the sand that sticks to you.Not like between or over the sheets :D

Golf a gentle game.No efforthop on a cart and off you go.

To each his or her own.

I am also a great elbow bender at the right time.Remember that whatever you do in life you have to bend your elbow ;D

Sometimes you bend your wrist ::)

But that is another angle of life ???

Make every day a happy day :D

me again ! The sugarshack doesn't have a website - it's located directly opposite lewinskys on pattayaland soi 2 ( or is it 1, I can never remember), they golf monday, wednesday, friday, departing at 9. There's board with the venues for the week chalked up.

What I like about the sugarshck golfers is that whilst there are a few expat pattaya residents there are a number of people like me who come and go, and it makes it a bit less cliquey than some of the other golfing grous in pattaya, where you can feel very much an outsider.

I should have said before to get your PSC membership - if you bring handicap proof with you you'll proably be able to play the big competition at the start of April - the competitions are good as there tend to be many prizes allocated by free draw, which gives the likes of me a chance.

Thanks Andy and Others:

Yeah, the greens at Siam were really slow last year - I don't think I got a put to the hole until the back nine. >:D

BTW - the restaraunt at Siam was full at 7 pm when I finished and it smelled great in there.

I think I have to check out the Japanese tub at Bangpra - soak, shower, change and straight to the bars ;D!

I'm going to check out Sugarshack now, maybe I'll see you there.
