Last yearI a stayed in a new hotel with a 40+ HD TV. The interesting part was that the hotel had a connector panel at the writing/computer desk with an HDMI sockey that was wired to the TV which was mounted on a different wall.

 

The connector panel also had an ethernet connection but I searched the city wide and far before finding an ethernet cable. I had forgotten to bring mine. Ethernet may be out of style but wifi is completely hit or miss.

 

Now the trend in new hotels appears to be placing the connector panel (with HDMI routed to the TV) by the headboard in an effort to promote medical tourism.

Hotels that offer LAN connections will have ethernet cables available at reception.
