Sandy Springs Hotel, Soi 13

Recommended Posts

I stayed there from Jan 18 through the 22nd and had a very nice experience.  The deluxe room with a view of the ocean was nice, but for the extra 500 per is really not IMHo worth it.  Bacon had a room just as big as mine with a view out onto the pool for 1000 and i would opt for that should I stay there again.

The staff were very accomodating and after i left the cleaning lady 40 baht each morning she left 4 bath towels instead of the original two and that helped.

The room was clean, plenty of hot water, but the shower attachment was designed for people about 5 feet tall so I had to stoop to rinse off when showering but maybe I'm just nit-picking in this regard.  No big deal really.

I had several tg come to the room and not once did they have to leave an Id, and one even asked in which room I was staying and she was permitted to go up to the room no questions or hassle at all.

If I would be a bit critical I think the floors in the lobby could have been a bit better cleaned, and i was at a loss as to why the big doors through which you enter the hotel were left wide open at night to let in the mosquitos.

The Sportsman Bar and Restaurant had good chow and the staff are a nice group of cuties one of whom I would like to have introduced to Little Jimmy but didn't have the balls to ask out.

I did notice that the Haven Hotel right next door seems to have been swallowed up by all the new construction that has taken place on the soi, and i wondered if Steve has had a falling off of business.  He treated me like shit a few trips ago so I didn't lose any sleep pondering such.

I think they serve food too, but I found the breakfast at the Dynasty to be top notch, and the Lek breakfast buffet is well known by all the boardies and needs no further explanatiion.

I would stay there again.  Nice place.  Regards, Jimmy

Sounds like the place is still good.  I spent 5 nights in early December in an 8th floor suite and thought it was great.  Anyhting high replacing the Haven, however, would completely screw up the view.  I thought it was all very clean when I was there.  I also arranged for 4 bath towels and had them fresh every day for my stay.  The Haven has a little bar with couple of cuties outside....if took one of them for the night on my second last night.  Then on the last night when I took home a girld from FLB I had to go up the Soi before to Second Road and then back down Soi 13 to the Sandy Spring so I wouldn't walk her past the girl at the Haven.  I'll be back to Sandy Spring on my next visit.

From February the seaview rooms (above the pool) will be sold as deluxe rooms (1200 baht?). Handy if you like to pay 200 extra for seaview.

On the breakfast side... Both Lek and Diana do great all-you-can-eat. I love a grand English ones, but not in the morning...

Where's the best Bloody Mary btw?

She works on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Centre street in Calgary. Always on the rag.

The Haven is the food place next door right?   It was open last night and every other night in the last 10 days I have been here.  Cheers

I stayed here during the same time fellow boardie Jimmybb did.  My room was very nice.  The bed was very big and comfortable.   My room was on the 3rd floor and there were no problems of noise from nearby construction.  I was located in room 309 and this was directly across from the elevator and looked out at the pool.  I brought a couple of different ladies back to the room and only on one occasion the front desk asked for and I.D. from the lady.  It could very well have been the hour that I brought her back to the room as it was around 2 am.  The girl did not seem to mind and it was not all that bad.

Reception was very nice and helpful whenever we had any questions.  One of the receptionist's kind thank you in Thai was really nice and I enjoyed hearing her every day.  I would have liked to take her for a test ride too.

The location was great and access to other hotels for breakfast was very good.  I did not eat at the Sandy Spring so I cannot comment on the food.  Tried the buffet at the Lek and lunch at Sportsman's and both were good.

I would stay at the Sandy Spring again if in Pattaya.
