Sad but true.This is the 2nd major on the LPGA tour this season.Playing a practice round with her sister,they decided to run of the 12th tee and she fell.She was scheduled to play with fast-rising Kiwi star Lydia Ko,already a winner at 15 years and alongside biggest flop in LPGA history,Michelle Oui.Ko just turned 16 and has a bright future.Clumsy Jutanugarn hadn't finished worse than 4th in 5 LPGA starts this season,making nearly a half million.WTF can you say? Adult supervision.Don't run if you're overweight.Use your head.

I can't remember a player withdrawing from a major due to injury from horseplay.Or even a regular event for that matter.Maybe it will teach her a valuable lesson.

Google translate for Jutanugarn and you get "Juta" (Jogging) "nu" (not while) "garn" (chewing gum).

I think it's good that her parents allow her to act like a teenage kid; that's what she is. I hope Lydia Ko follows a similar path. Michelle Wie is a prime example of where they don't want to end up.

Yes,great idea.She passed up possibly winning $300k and being the youngest winner of a major by a year.I hope Ko continues what she is doing,playing a minimum of tournaments.She too wants to attend Stanford.Oui has a degree to fall back on even though her $10 million Nike contract should keep her comfortable without golf.I understand those in golf are trying to dissuade Ko from a college education.Oui's time in school had little effect on her level of play IMO.There were many bright stars that flamed out after their amateur career and hanging on by a thread in the 2nd tier in the US or on the LET.

She screwed up and she admitted it.It was an expensive lesson for her and now she may miss the next major in a few weeks.She is very polite and always smiles but her ladyboy voice is unnerving.

Ko is a much more polished player at 15-16 than Oui was.Much better all around game.Plus she won on the top tour at 15,something neither Oui or Plumpy has accomplished.Plumpy won on a 2nd level LET tour in Morocco.

Oui just blasted it long due to her height and could actually putt like a human back then.Not so today.

There will always be other opportunities to win golf tournaments.
