Tried to book Res Gardens but they are full already.

I need some ideas, must be nice, decent enough sight view, large room, modern with maybe internet access and in the 1000-1500 baht ain high season.

Any ideas guys.

I have looked at Nova, Sabai Inn, Amari resort, Sunbeam, Sunshine vista and Green Park.

Which ones of those that ARE NOT GUEST FRIENDLY

Really liked the look of Green Park. Can anybody tell where they are or near where.

Their address is; Green Park Resort

     240/5 Moo 5, Soi Pingpa,

     North Pattaya, Chonburi 20150

I also like the look of Yensabai Condos. Can you pay for daily maid service, like cl;ean sheets in bed and towels for the bathroom etc. Their website says its only once per week. Also to members who have stayed there before would you prefer a studio or 1 bedroom if you were to stay there again.

The Green Park is about a 2 minute walk from the Dolphin Circle. It's OK but a bit faded and jaded. U can do better for the money.

I always stay at the Eastiny but if u stay there and are not a late night merchant u need to ask for a room on an upper floor near the back of the hotel otherwise the noise from Soi 8 will piss u off.

The Sunbeam is ok but I think that either of the Eastinys or Flippers are better options if u want to stay around the Soi 8 area.

To my way of thinking Soi 7/8 is the best area to stay. U have action on ur doorstep and it's neither too far to Soi 2 nor to walking street. Plus there's always that nightcap to be had as u wend ur way home. I just like the convenience of my bed being 20 seconds from my last drink - I hate a long (i.e 5 minute !!) bus ride home - kills the mood sometimes, although I'm prob on my own with that one.

Happy hunting.

Cheers

Floyd,

Yes you can have daily maid service at the Yensabai Condo. I rented a big studio for 400 per day. Nice place. I also liked the Sabai Inn. I would make my resevation now.

I don't agree about the Green Park Resort.  Certainly, I didn't find it 'faded and jaded'.

I only paid 856 baht for a double room without breakfast.

No problem whem I had a friend come to visit me.

They would call up if I had a visitor.

If I wasn't in, she was allowed to wait for me in reception.

Very nice pool with a swim up bar. Tastefully done gardens. It's funny how two people can have such completely different perceptions.

Rooms all have balconies facing the pool.

Yes I also checked the reviews on the property and there were 2 for, and 2 against. Funnily the 2 against were the oldest so maybe it got a makeover in between. the photos on the net look very nice.

BigDUSA; Yes I will be booking in the next two weelks or so once I have decided where im going to stay. I have never been in Thailand before for New Years Eve so when I learned that Res Gardens was already full I thought fuck it, I will go when they aren't but then I thought nah, I will find somewhere else.

Floyd,

U cud be right with the makeover comment as it was about 3yrs ago when a friend of mine stayed there and HIS room was certainly "faded and jaded".

However, apart from the makeover possibility he may have been unlucky, valentino may have been lucky or it's simply a question of differing values/standards/opinions as the contadictory reviews u mention illustrate.

Cheers

Have to agree with Pieman, Soi 7/8 area is a great place to stay - he mentions that last drink just before you get home... one of my favourite memories of Pattaya happened on a night when I'd had a tiff with a BG I'd been seeing on Walking Street- continued on and had too much to drink, and then walked all the way from there to Soi 7, dodging ladyboys and the odd ugly freelancer all the way.

Walked up Soi 7 until I hit the last beer bar before the turnoff to my hotel, Bella Vista,  and there were four BG's and an old drunk Swede sitting there and inviting me in for  drink. How could I refuse? Just ordered my first Carlsberg, and who shows up but the seafood vendor? I bought a whole pile of prawns and crabs for us all at 3:00AM, and we proceeded to stuff ourselves silly. I ended up going home with a lovely and sweet little 20 year old from this group -  just a doll - unfortunately I had to travel to BKK the next day and never saw her again - you ever notice that you always run into the real sweethearts the night before you leave? Jeez...

Yeah, this is a great part of Pattaya to stay in.
