Hi guys,

I am scheduling my return flight and am wondering if this SARs thing has cut into hotel fill rates.  If so, are they negotiating more than usual?

I'll be there for about 5-6 weeks.  Just wondering if I should play hardball or if it is business as usual.

And BTW, what the hell is that icon/thingy to the left? ???

jimmybcool,

If I was going to be there for that long, I would get me a room for a couple days.  Then check out some places that appealed to me and ask them in person what is the rate.  You should get a good quote since your staying over a month and until November it's the slow season.  Another thing that is in your favor is they continue to open new hotels or add on to existing ones.

Emil,

On the nose man.  I will check into my regular spot (Pinewood Residence) and try to work a deal.  If no go, I'll look around.  I admit I am getting tired of crossing 2nd road to get to Pinewood.  Seems like a small thing but when you are tired and a bit drunk not that cool.

I'll be looking around in a month I guess.  Ought to be someone that needs a long term guest.  :)

So far I am considering SUnshine Villas on Soi 3.  And FLipper on 8.

Tell me about the Pinewood. I was going to stay there a few weeks but I didnt like the way the entry was tucked back so far at night etc.. I never did get to see the rooms but right now my favorite place is Sabai Inn.

I gave up on Flipper Lodge after 10 years of staying there because with all the new live music bars across the street the noise is just atrocious!

Jimmy,

If you like the South Pattaya area, you might want to check out the White Rose Mansion on Soi Yensabai (Soi 18).  Quite area and you should be able to get a room for around 600 baht or less.  Didn't stay there, but did stay at 2 nearby hotels, Koenig and Marine but they didn't have a pool, the White Rose did.
