Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartments

Recommended Posts

I just found this place on the Asia Travel site.  Its on Soi 3 and has good looking room and studio pics and is reasonably priced.  It seems to be new and has soft opening rates.  Has anyone tried it or been in it?  Any comments?  Is it GF friendly?

jimmac,

Never been in it but it is located at the Beach Road end of the Soi so it could be affected by the building work going on at the A-1 Cruise sister hotel.  That might explain the soft opening.

Regrads,

Tom

Hi,

Anyone have an update on this place ?   Guest friendliness, next door building noise etc.   Looks good on the website.

I've taken a look. I looked at rooms with different views. Even though the views may not have been the most exciting, there was no disturbances, that I noticed ,from any building work.

I am quite sure it's Girl friendly as I was asked where my girlfriend was and why I didn't have one.

They are definitely open to negotiation on the prices.

I stayed there Jan-Feb.  I got a rate of 1100 baht/day since I stayed more than two weeks.  Very nice tiled floor.  The bathrooms have a bath tub and a separate 2-person shower.  The construction wasn't a problem.  You do get a balcony view which is nice.  Girl friendly?  Hey, these are serviced apartments.  They ain't your mother.  No ID checks.  What you do is up to you.

Only complaints were:

1) The temperature-controlled A/C simply didn't function which meant that most times I simply left it off at night.

2) The pool on top was virtually deserted.  So I usually just strolled through the Welkom Inn (just across the soi) over to the Sabai Lodge pool which has great ambiance and read the morning paper with a drink.

The daily prices offered to me were; 1100 Superior room

                                                 1500 Studio

                                                 1920 Exec studio

                                            Monthly: 24k

                                                         27k

                                                         28.5k respectively

These were the prices before negotiation. It was indicated that they would accept an offer, especially if for an extended stay.

is changed to 1320 from Apr.01.

Monthly rates are,

Monthly: 21k

               27k

               28.5k respectively

I stayed 2 nights,  Mar 30 and 31, then moved to another hotel.  I thought it is not worth for maney.

1320B Room is very small, may be around 30 sqm, or less.

They have many vacant rooms, so you had better to check the room first.

Did you make the manager an offer? He seemed quite eager to negotiate when I was there. For 1100 per day, I would have requested an upgrade to a studio, with no question of a price rise on April 1st.(A price rise in low season?)

For a two week stay, in an Executive studio, I would offer to pay 14k, certainly no more than 15k. I'd be surprised if that wasn't accepted.

I made a reservation through Asia travel, so I thought it was difficult to negotiate a charge with manager.

The reception guy asked why I cancell.

I said 1320B is too expencive for the superior room .

Yes, it is a great bargain.

The pros of this place is in room elect safe, direct phone; those are very convenient.     The location is good as the second road is bi-directional.

But the room is too small for the charge which is given in Asiatravel site.

Hi guys,

For the best rates negotiate with Sunshine Vista reservations direct at email: sunshinevista@yahoo.com

You should have no trouble getting:

Superior  1100 baht nett but not incl.bft

Studio     1500 baht nett but not incl.bft

These were the soft opening rates until 31st March but seem to have been  "unofficially" extended by Sunshine Vista (direct) Reservations.

Asia Travel who advertise 1320 and 1800 were not prepared to negotiate, so go direct.

Cheers Hall
