I am looking for a hotel in the Pattaya area.  As this is my first time in Pattaya I would prefer a hotel that has some people who can speak english and have no problem with guests.  I am also looking for a place that charges no extra for guests.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks

Andy, on the Home page of this site, there is a hotel section. There are about 370 reviews of various hotels in the Pattaya area that you can check out. You don't mention a price range for what you want to pay, so more info would help. I like the Residence Garden, there is no problem or check on the guests you bring back, and no extra charge. Through this site you can book a room for 1350 baht at the residence garden...long stays of 30 days or more you can get a discount from that from the owner Ib. These are suites...bedroom plus living room. There are several reviews on the R.G. in the hotel section. Have a great trip.

Andy,

Also suggest you read all the threads in this section. Alot of good answers to hotel questions. There will be a few of us staying at the Flipper Lodge at  the same time you are there. Just got confirmed for a 'seaview' room for 880 baht.

Leo,

I looked in the review section for the Flipper Lodge and noticed there were 2 different ones, one on Soi7 and one on Soi8.  Are these infact two different hotels?  As far as a price range I would like to stay in the 20-40 US dollar range.  How could I go about booking a room at the Flipper Lodge?  Would you be interested in showing a first timer a thing or two while I am there?

Thanks

Andy

Andy,

There is Flipper House on Soi 7 and Flipper Lodge on Soi 8. Two different properties. You'll have no problem at all with your $20-$40 range. Flipper Lodge usually 800-1050 bath. 42 baht to the US $ right now. So, just about $20.

I stayed at Flipper Lodge on Soi 7 and the location is great! Guest Friendly??? Let's just say that if you don't bring a girl back they wonder about you!  ;D

When will you be in Pattaya? Maybe we can meet for a beer or three.

You will have a great time...enjoy and happy hunting!

Andy,

OnMyWay, answered the questions. Just go to their website, and at the top click on which hotel. Like he said, the Flipper Lodge is on Soi 8 near Beach Rd. and the Flipper House is on Soi 7 closer to 2nd Rd. Both have the same rate. You should get the price 20% less than is shown on the website if you stay there. I have stayed at both several time, but just like the Lodge, because of being closer to the beach and the view. As they say in the LOS, Up To You.

I will be checking into the Lodge about noon on April 4th, and have a 'newbie' friend that will be there 2 days before I arrive. Send me PM if you need more info, or would like to hook up.

Hey Andy.  [smiley=newbie.gif]

My first trip July 2001, stayed Flipper house soi7 and a good hotel.

My advice is don't commit yourself to staying at either Flipper for the duration of your holiday.

They are both surrounded by beer bars and you might feel uncomfortable passing these places and the prying eyes of the bargirls ( and who knows what advice they're giving your new companion ) when bringing one   back to the room, especially if you're  the butterfly type.  [smiley=wink.gif]

If this is so, stay maybe 3 nights while looking around other hotels, away from beerbar areas.

This is my preference and I don't like hotels with strict lady ID checks.

But as they say, "up to you". [smiley=gulp.gif]

Hey Mischa, stayed at the Flipper Lodge a few times and never had a room with a balcony. Had the deluxe rooms a few times as well and both were nice and great views. If you like hitting the pool they have a nice one on the roof with an awesome view. Hope this helps. Cheers, B-Man!

  • 4 weeks later...

The Queen Vicoria Inn on Soi yodsak, I paid only 500 baht for one night and It was in the middle of all the action, it is a bit noisy until 2 am but I was always up still ;D.  It is a clean hotel, english owned and probably the best food I ate in Pattaya.  There are only twenty rooms so book quickly.  Another one I stayed at was Sabai Inn on soi 2 . cheers and god bless the troops.
