Death of the Sports Car

Recommended Posts

Took my car to have the tires rotated and the brake pads replaced if needed.

When the work is done the shop manager comments to me that he had to drive my car out of the bay because two of the mechanics don't know how to drive a straight shift.

Look on the bright side, that will deter young car thieves and joy-riders!

Yep. Beats having some "know-it-all" cut you short when you try and tell him how to put the car in reverse and then does exactlly what you were going to tell him not to do.

To put my car in reverse you have to reach down with a couple of fingers and pull up on a ring on the gear shift stem, not the knob, while sliding it into reverse. The moron at the smog station grabbed the gear shift knob and pulled it right off the stem, taking some of the wiring with it. First class idiot, but he paid to have it put it back together, properly.

Now that you mention it, I've heard stories of that already happening.
