Not sure if any other Business owners has got there hand on the letter that TCC have been giving out about the World Cup.

I will scan it and post it later so you can have a read and get a translation.

But from what i can make out it is 30,000 for bars to show the games.

for hotels, guesthouses with bars its 100,000

As the times of the games are at silly o'clock in the morning i think We will pass and TCC will be 30,000 less from this bar.

It's a shame really. I read that the licensing entity (TCC?) had 400 investigators who will be checking bars and other public venues for licenses during the games. Any business that is showing the World Cup without a license is subject to closure, arrest of the management and fines immediately.

This means that if you are using a streaming site via IPTV to show the games, you can be in a world of trouble if you are a bar.

I suppose, based on the prohibitive cost, not many bars will be showing the WC, but you can probably count on them being quite busy for the more popular matches.

IPTV at home is the way to go, I suppose.

Won't there be elections (or pre-elections) on the day of the World Cup final, and hence an alcohol ban? :whistling:

The pre-election will be held on July 13, the date of the WC final. I think the final starts at 2 a.m.on the 14th, so the bars csn open, tho the law says open the morning of the 14th at 6 a.m.

It's a mess!
